Default zr1 quarter mile

I was at the track today and my buddies zr1 with drag radials only ran an 11.1 i dont remeber the trap speed all I know is that thing i seriusly fast

What size Drag radial??? 60ft???

With better wheather and more practice I'm sure he can get it to 10.8

There are guys running stock C6 Z06's wit DR's in the 10.80's. The ZR1 better run mid 10's stock.

i wasnt really paying attension it was bracket racing day, and he was supposed to run 11.4 and they kicked him out cause he ran 11.1 second pass of the night

Zr-1 is not geared towards the 1/4. The C6Z has better gearing for the 1/4 mile. Even so the Zr-1 does pull a faster trap.

most Z06's trap stock 124-126, some as high as 128. The Zr-1's I have seen are trapping 131-134.
Look at the difference in the transmission gears between the two cars. Totally different.
Got the trans gear ratio's for you and as you can tell the Zr-1's from 1st to 3rd are totally higher than the Z06's. They are both 3.42 rear end gears.
Zr-1 z06
1st-2.29 1st-2.97
2nd-1.61 2nd-2.07
3rd-1.21 3rd-1.43
4th-1.00 4th-1.00
5th-.81 5th-.71
6th-.67 6th-.57

There have been a few guys that ran 10s in perfect weather after running 100s of runs. I wouldn't call that an average time.

.....am I crazy,... or is that the clutch thats smoking after the launch. To me, it looks like it,...cause it appears most of the smoke from the burnout was alleviated already. Regardless of the smoke......the driver either launched the car nicely if your on a street tire(slipping the clutch, not full releasing the pedal as if you had slicks=good radial).....or,.... the clutch wasn't diggin' the ft-lbs a whole lot.

Check it out, like twenty times.

There has only been 3 posted stock Z06 10 sec passes......and I can assure you that is far from the norm (perfect track conditions, perfect weather and a little luck as well).

correct me if im wrong, but clutch smoke is usually brownish right?

I personally know three guys who did it, only one of them visit the forums. Still I was just making a point, that a car with 100 more HP better be as quick as on with 100 less.

I think both are slow, my C5 runs 9's.

^ I am sure your stay here will be short lived.


As for the ZR1, no doubt you guys are obviously referring to Ranger. I bet if he had the seat time in a ZR1 that he has had in his Z06 and good conditions, he would best his Z06 ET and MPH by a healthy margin.

I went and checked out what the Zr-1 had done to it. With over 700rwhp and tq, the Zr-1 should of been faster. Easily in the 9's. However I do believe that was a shitload of clutch smoke. If that was the stock clutch in that Zr-1, it is not holding at all.
Btw that is one heluva fast C6Z with only those mods.
