Looking at a C6 Z06 w/ high miles today
Just wondering if there is anything I should look for specfic to these cars with high miles(for a z i guess)
I would have done more research beforehand but the plan was to save more and get a lower mileage one later in the year...but if this one is in good shape I could get one now at what they are asking for it.
It's a 06, black, 40k miles ,for sale in VA, they want 43k for it. Was going to start out at 37....sorry I know nothing about vettes and this would be my first one.

Remember, no warranty probably and you can get an 07 with fewer miles for about the same price. They will be going down once we get into the winter. I just saw a flawless 07 with 1k miles sell for 44 at my local dealership.

just make sure that the roof is fixed or not coming off! 06 and 07 had that issue. and just because the vin doesn't meet the right numbers means it won't happen. My Vin is not in the range, so they would not fix it, now it's coming off and they better! I take it in today.....

Thats good info about the roof...I didn't know that...thanks
That's true about 07's...plus I get a better rate from my credit union for an 07and up. Another reason to lowball the price I guess
I'm def not keeping it stock, haha, what's the fun in that?

So I went to look at the car....it was in pretty good shape overall...but had some rock chips in the front and that turned me off. Im guessing it was a DD for the previous owner.
A C6 Z is definitly the next car im getting but im gonna wait for the right one to show up.
True...after talking on the corvette forums it seems that dealers/private sellers are willing to negotiate the price of used ones A LOT...just because the market for these cars is so small.

Don't get too hung up on mileage. Some people actually do drive their Vettes. My commute is almost 100 miles and I have 26,000 miles on my 08. The car has NEVER been raced and is well taken care of. So mileage isn't a true indication of condition.
If you can, have a trusted shop who knows Vettes look it over. See if it was a trade or auction car, how many owners has it had, Carfax (even though I don't put a lot of faith in that), check for any mods already done, maintenance history (very important to me), and overall condition of the car. Buying used is always a gamble but be smart and don't buy without checking things thoroughly.

Get to know your vettes before you do anything...always look for front bumber chips as you mentioned...on the z06s the rear side scoops are prone to chipping and i even look at the wear on the plastic fender wells front and back...and of course look at the driver leather seat...i have seen a couple of z,s at the dealership that just look like ****..all this stuff makes a difference in what you should pay....be picky, very picky....
