C6 Z06...new tires...I need your opinion!
Alright, here's the deal. I am a blue bird day driver anymore, car is stock
(08 Z06) and in need of new tires. I am wanting serious traction (in case I run into those pesky porsches, or other eurojunk out there). The runcraps suck. I'm considering the INVO's, but would consider PS2's if they are $800 better. It needs to fit the stock rims too. All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

I'm running the Nitto Invo's now and like them. They are sooo much better (quieter, hook better) than the runflats. They are great in the rain and look good too. (I don't think you can beat them for the price either...there are a few specials on for a set of 4 with shipping)
I have heard great things about the NT-o5's as well, but they appear to be more of a track or weekend only tire...
Keep us posted!

I have Invo's on my Z, but I went with a 19/20" setup. They perform much better then the stock run flats. If the NT05's were made in the size I need, I would of went with them. I have heard they ride smooth & quiet, handle good and hook good also.

I have talked to a few guys with C6Z's, either stock or cam/bolt ons, and they seem to really like the invo's for the street. They also said in the rain they are good tires. I'm sure the michelins are geat too, but $$$$
How you been Doc? How you enjoying the new vette?

Whats up Doc ?? Long time no post. I see you have driven the z enough to need some new tires. I don't know much about the Nittos other then the DRs, but I run the Michelins on my 402 and love them. A little pricey but I didn't pay anywhere near full price either. Got them at cost PLUS s/h in 06 mounted on those chrome c5 z rims. Basically I love them. If you got the cash look into the R888's from TOYO. Heard they hold serious power. V Series Tech will tell you about them.

Thanks for the input! Love the vette, but moved, and the roads here suck a$$. And my driveway would give 4 x 4 a hard time, so I have to leave her at work, covered up, so she's really a weekend driver, and bluebird days only. Hit a wet spot in a s curve the other day, and went off-roadin' LOL, scarred the freakin crap out of me, but no damage. Next day, hit a racoon and screwed up the little plastic grill. Anyway, she's still bone stock...but one day...one day!

So Doc you drive your truck or other vehicle to work and take out your vette at lunch or whenever and then drive your daily home? Damn that sucks. Should've bought a house with a nice driveway and surrounding roads. Where did you move to?

We moved to the grand metropolis of Maypearl, TX. And really, I wouldn't change a thing. We have a lot of land, neighbors are few and far between. It's quiet, and I mean quiet...no road sounds, no horns, no kids...just nature my friend. I feel free when I'm at home...It was an easy trade, and I still get to drive my girl. The first year, I drove her to work everyday (about 80miles round trip) and put 15K on her...ended up with nice little dings on the frontend (which was touched up when I had the grill replaced a couple of weeks ago). Now I drive her for pleasure only...love it, and wouldn't trade.
On another note, think I'll go ahead on the INVO's. The reviews were very good, and I haven't heard many people give any negative reviews, so, bang for the buck...I should be in good shape. rt

For an all around tire, try the Nitto NT05. They have much better grip than the GY's and their hook is awsome. The price is good ~$1,300 per set. They don't come in a runflat, if that bothers you.

my dad runs PS2s on his 06Z..he's not really into driving his vette hard but when i occasionally take it out i love to get on it..i seem to still lose traction hardcore doing 40-50 mph rolls
