Thats it. You will throw two codes and the reverse lights will be out whenusing the unlock/lock function. Other than that everything will operate as normal.

Why not? Im sure the OP either has blackouts or doesnt want to stand out in traffic with the yellow lights.

FYI. Did this yesterday. To disable the running lights only and still have the reverse light light up when you hit the alarm on your FOB....

Go to your passenger footwell and open the Fuse box. Pull #38 and #40 relay out. Make two set of Jumper wires and placethem here in each:
I
I
I
I
I
Thats it.. pul all the crap back together and put the relays in your glove box in case you ever want to reverse it

Hmmm... In the DIC there is an option called "approach lights"... That's not the DRL?

No its not the DRL, thats different. Approach lights are when you approach the car and push the unlock button on your FOB.

So if you pull the #2 fuse with the approach light set to on, your DRL (Daytime Running Lights) will be disabled and so will the lights when you hit lock/unlock on your FOB. You will also get three codes, but none will show a light.

If you build a jumper, 2 codes will be set....not showing a light.....but the DRL will be disabled and everything else will function properly....i.e. the approach function

Hopefully this made sense

Well, I have a way of disabling them without using jumpers or pulling fuses.

Works like a charm. Takes less than a minute after my mod
