Skip the 4.10's it way too much gear. I had picked up a SW Z06 with 420 RWHP and 4.10 gears and I find myself forever shifting the car. Gas mileage sucks big time too.

If you got or plan to have big power, stick w/the 3.42's

 

I would certainly agree that gears would wake the car up, 3.73 or 3.90
Plenty of people love them

I’d agree, I daily my 02 z and it has a rkt built trans and 3.90 gears - slp blackwing on a veraram bridge with short shifter and some suspension work an I love it - gas mileage went down a bit but the instant kick you get and the ability to ride through all gears around town is a huge improvement. Initially I wasn’t going to go 3.90 but no one had 3.42 in stock and as I said it’s a dd so I needed it running asap- pleasant surprise and it runs right there with my c7z stock other then dct sport traction mod and actually was light to light woopin up on a c8z- light weight and torque curve from the 3.90 really puts it in a new level- now if you want to supercharge I’d stay stock 3.42 but I add any more power and I’m gonna loose my license 😂 ( that’s why I’m not allowed near my dads new toy the eray- that thing is seriously fast like chiropractic fast 🤣 ) it just hooks up and goes no nonsense unlike the z’s that love to salsa off the line 💃

 

If you have stock gearing for the Z06 those gears are already shorter than the Base model. I get about 25 MPG at 75 MPH in mine. RPM's a slight bit under 2k.
