Coutouts on a stock C5 z06 exhaust??
Im honestly considering doing this. I have done this on my fbody and have only positive things to say about it...
I was wondering, does anyone have videos of a completely stock exhaust z06 with open cutouts? thanx!! And what diameter is the exhaust? Im guessing 2.5 inch.
Thanx

I unbolted mine once at the point where they go over the rear axle and it was hella loud. I had a LS1 T/A with longtubes, and no cats and a cutout. This Vette with the exhaust unbolted is much louder. (Cannot talk on cell phone with windows up ! )
There are a few issues on a c5z. The first one is that the exhaust is Titanium and very difficult to weld. If you put the cutouts too close to the rear transverse spring thing it can melt. I have seen a pic of this.
I spent 1100 on a Borla System Agressive cat back and am very happy. It sounds good, is legal and not too loud. This is the only mod on my car and i am happy with it.

im guessing sound is your goal here. In that case, the TI bypass mod may work in your favor. sounds better than cutouts too.

That is one sick set-up
Anymore info on it? Titanium is not friendly to weld
To the OP:
Alot of the cutouts are the low profile style from DMH or QTP and are usually put after the H-pipe (or x-pipe if installed) and right before the flanges before the axle back pipes go over to the mufflers -
Titanium is not like welding stainless or steel or even aluminum - special equipement is used.
Here is a thread with some pics to get the idea:
