I'd go LS3 C6 they look a little more aggressive IMO (not that the c5z06 doesnt just not as much to me). Bolt on to bolt on the ls3 will make more power. If ur choice is LS2 C6 or C5z06 go c5z all the way IMO, my dads c5z with intake/cb/tune made 376whp while my uncles c6 ls2 (a6) with intake/cb/tune made 355whp

Base c6s look like *** compared to the c6zs and gs though use of widebody. Plus you have the best model made for those years with c5z.

the base c6's dont look as aggressive as a c6z or gs but i wouldnt say they are ugly lol, they look sick imo if u have the stock chrome rims or nice aftermarket wheels

I thought the same thing.. Then went to stingray in Florida. They have about 5 zr1s, multiple carbon editions and grandsports, tons of c6zs, and of course base models. When you see them side by side over and over different colors rim options etc etc the base models look way way too plain. Riding down the road it isn't That noticeable but pull up next to one with the wide body and you would be disappointed.
I would rather have the best model for that year than a base model of another year even of It has slightly more potential, ie ls3/c5z.

I know the seats are horrible in them, I've never understood how a 1993 Firebird has better seats than a $100k ZR1, as far as comfort and how well it holds you in place. Maybe that's their way of marketing it towards fat old men? The could have still offered an option for people that wanted good seats.

I was wondering more about the placement of everything, most importantly where the shifter was placed, and the damn multifunction (blinker) switch. My hands are normal size, yet I damn near have to take my hand off the wheel to hit the switch on my Firebird.

The multifunction shaft is a little closer to the wheel in the Vette. The shifter is (if not in the same spot) just a little further back than the F-bodies. Remember, the transmission is in the back of the car, so it gave GM more ability to move the shifter where they wanted it. It's VERY comfortable from that stand point.

I like the seats in the C6Z and ZR1 1000x more than my stock C5Z seats. They do fit and I may buy some C6Z seats for my car. They're definitely more comfortable and hold you a bit better. Still not good road racing seats, but definitely a step up and stock looking. I also thought about installing some A4s. But I want to retain the easy-in system and memory functions. I'm not tall, but the easy-in system really does help getting in and out of the car and the memory function is important for when my dad and I trade cars. (He has a Vert! Best of both worlds for us.)

The C5Z is a driving experience...Only thing between you and the road is a balsa wood floorboard and carpet! Ive driven every kind of corvette to exclude a ZR1 (new model) and it depends on what your going for.

I had the same decision to make. Went with the Electron Blue C5Z...never been jealous when I pull up to a c6. But have had a few c6 owners drool over my car. The B&B bullet exhaust doesn't hurt...

What do you want to know about an LS3 I own 1. The C5 looks outdated imo. Get an 08 or newer, has an LS3 and looks more modern.

If it's not a LS3 c6 forget about it. C5 z06 will stomp it every which way. The C5Z06 is raw and unstoppable. If you're looking for a nicer interior, smoother ride, and more refined styling get the C6 or a cadillac .

All opinion.

Sit a C5z/base c6/C6z next to each other, purely aesthetics.....
1. C6z
2. C5z
3. C6

C5z is in no way dated IMO. What do you consider "dated"?

Absolutely love my C5Z but it definitely looks dated with the flip up headlights and the halogens.

The only problem, and maybe what he is saying, is sit all three next to each other with the lights up on the C5Z. Lights down it looks much better than a base C6 does, but put them up and it looks very dated.
