Corky do a search on the gears and axles forum for rpm calculator and several will pop up. I think your right on the money with those two gears, you may want to consider if you will be bringing your own atmoshphere to the track and what MPH you will being seeing then as well.
See ya tonight.

I havent seen many C5 owners talk about changing gears. Would be sweet to see what a big 427 car could do w/ 3.75s, 3.90s or even 4.10s

There are a couple of calculators out there, but since I am fairly close to stock.... I really couldn't help you in terms of the 1/4 speed.. You have a TON more power than me!!!!! I have 4.10's in my 99' FRC, 6th gear is right at 1950 rpms at 70mph...

Well I going to start with 373's first, 390's may be a LITTLE to much, right now at 70mph I'm around 1500rpm, so I hoping a 373 will get me to 1750 to get off the cam surge . Should have gears next week, car is apart right now waiting, also think I'm installing the hardened output shaft to, it's apart. why not. QA1 sitting next to car and 305-35-18 Nitto 555r's. Also have new LS6 intake modified and oval throttle body by TPIS. that should make a HUGE difference. we'll see

Im not talkin about on here, or on another performance based site tho. Just seems most people (@ least around here) dont do much, if anything to their vettes besides catbacks or air intakes and such. Thats what i was meaning, not off the net.

I have 4.10 gears in mine the are maxed out going through the traps at 129mph and 6800rpm on 26 inch et streets. On the highway in 6th at 70 i think its between 2000-2200 the best gear you can run with a m6. IMHO.
P.S. with better gears , some sticky tires and a ls6 intake you will go very low 11's. My little 346 with 427rwhp n/a goes 11.50 at 119-120 so with your mph you could do much better. Not to mention more hp and way more TQ than me. Mine only has 391 RWTQ.

I have 4:10s and 1st and 2nd gears are a waste of time, car makes alot of noise a nd sounds like your going 100mph but your not. Just making smoke. I have about 485hp with out the juice and 650 with, can't use juice till 4th gear even with 315 drag radials. I will be going to 3:73 soon.

Your problem is drag radials. You have to much HP for them. I had bfg DR and could not 60' to save my life. With the CCW's and ET streets a 1.52 is easy. I dump clutch at 5300 and get 1.52 if i let it go higher i could most likely get 1.4's. You need to stop banging your head against the wall and get the CCW package.
Did you ever think that maybe it is because you have a m12 tranny and 4.10 is more like 4.30 in 1st and 2nd. Also if the car makes alot of noise your gears are set up wrong. I would talk to the guy who set them up. Eastcoast supercharging did mine and they dont make a peep.
I dont know about you but I do 103 in the 1/8. If anyone plans on running mid 10's I say 4.10 is the way to go I am at redline going through the traps at 129mph. 10.6 for an et.

sorry I didn't say that right, the gears aren't making noise its the sound of the motor hitting the rev limiter instantly in 1st and 2nd.

Bottom line is you need ET streets. Then if you hit the limiter you need to practice your technique. There are hundreds of people across the country who have no problem.

CCW stands for Complete Custom Wheels, I paid 2250 for mine They are very lite and came with M/T ET streets on the back and 5 innch skinnies on the front for that price. I used DR and could not get any better then a 1.8 60' My first day out on the ET street got 1.52 easily.
