Default 04 C5 with PRC 215 heads, Torquer V3 cam, Magnaflow, TS&P headers

I just finished up a friend's 2004 automatic C5 with ~ $7,000 worth of new parts. We raided the Texas-Speed & Performance C5 catalog for enough parts to make his "new" C5 competitive with a certain local '97 car. The shopping list included:
PRC 215 heads; Torquer V3 cam; Yella Terra rockers; Texas-Speed long tube headers and x-pipe; Magnaflow cat-back; Yank 3,000 stall; Powerbond 25% under drive pulley; Vararam intake; 30# SVO "redtop" injectors; and new plugs & wires. After installing all the new parts, I loaded it up with a start-up tune and drove it to work a couple times to collect idle RAF, VE and MAF data. I was quite impressed with the driveability of the Torquer V3 cam and stalled automatic. The valvetrain is not too much louder and the car was smooth in cruise and even loping around in a parking lot. Automatics have their moments to shine, but I still prefer my 6 speed.

For anyone wanting to hear the idle lope of a Torquer V3 or the exhaust tone of the C5 Magnaflow cat-back, I've added a little video clip of the car:

Luckily, I didn't pay for the parts... Thanks to the Corvette tax, that's what it costs for brand new parts.

Vette tax? Those parts cost the same for an fbody brand new except the specifics like headers.
A vette procharger is cheaper and would have made 100rwhp more.
A turn key 408 from TSP is about the same price.

Not hating at all! I really love it, I have an auto coupe myself. I just find it crazy to see people still spending that much on N/A LS1 set up's.
Worth it IMO. Yes lol just crazy to see i guess lol

There turn key is still more than 7 grand and at least 2k of that the OP spent on longtubes, stall and catback so really on 5k or less on motor parts to make a great street car, I however have already bought all those basic bolt ons lol so I am trying to decide between a new big motor or H/C/I, any suggestions

Congrats on the new power!

Youre right but clutches aren't cheap!!! I did Patriot Stage II heads, cam FAST 90/90, Callaway Honker, and blah blah and made 450 RWHP. Clutch slipped on dyno and had to by a new one. By the time I bought gaskets and bolts and all the little additional items I hit @7k too!

Awesome build

How did the TSP headers fit?
Do you like them?
Thinking about them myself..

Thanks
