I though the car looked great for the Indy 500. Hell of a finish as well for it lol.

Looks AWESOME in blue. Great choice GM. I'll take one.

That was a great post Hutchman. It's refreshing to read a well thought out essay with proper punctuation to boot.

Over the past 8 years or so I have had to push myself through a paradigm shift - old school muscle vs LSx technology. After I got through my own bias for the first generation SBC and carbs it was easy to embrace the LS1 with fuel injection, high flowing heads, and 6-bolt mains. My '69 Nova endured the conversion and is now comfortable sporting a laptop in the passenger seat while I constantly tweak settings and datalog the results.

Hopefully the C7 design and technology will prove to be another strong step in the Corvette evolution. While certain parts may never equal the design appeal of a '63 Split Window, the braking, steering, & acceleration will more than compensate. Maybe the best compromise is to have one of each or build a resto-mod second gen with the C5/C6 suspension & drivetrain.

I hope you get a chance to drive one and let your opinion develop over time. I won't be in a position to upgrade my C5, having kids in college for the next 7+ years, but I will enjoy keeping up with the technology and have plenty of time to prepare my build sheet for 2020...
