Default New mods on the C5Z = new pics!

I decided to do a major exterior refresh over the winter and finally got everything installed over the weekend.

Here's what I accomplished:
- ACI front lip
- ACI side skirts
- Smoked all lights
- Painted brake screens black

Got the body pieces painted and installed this weekend. Overall I love the new look - although the fitment isn't perfect and seamless, it does look much more aggressive. Definitely gets much more attention too.

I still have to paint the lower rear fascia black to complete the refresh. I'm probably just going to plasti-dip it for now as vinyl quotes were outrageous.

Now I just have to powdercoat the T1 swaybars and throw those on, install the FAST 92/90, tune and I should be pretty well set for the year!

What do you guys think? Crappy cell pics but you get the idea:

The rear needs something, but unfortunately there's not a nice bolt on rear bumper or diffuser available to help compliment everything.

I'm hoping painting the lower rear fascia black will help but there's not much I can do outside of that. It's a start though...

I also wish the front lip didn't have the outer sections bow out but there's really not much you can do with the shape of the nose as it is. It does look more subtle in person but hey I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. Just a little something different and not your plain jane C5, and overall I'm pleased with how it turned out.

I put the black on my old c5 rear fascia, looked terrible. When behind the car looks like part of the body is missing. Painted it silver the next day

I think the reason most people do it is actually the same reason you didn't like it - most people want to eliminate the big butt and make the car appear a little smaller in the rear and that's the illusion it gives.

I've done it before and liked it. It'll be a semi-gloss so it should tie in nicely with the Z06 ducts, the smoked lights, etc. and work well with the scheme I'm after.

Hum, I wouldn't say the rear looked smaller, just incomplete., and maybe even wider. More rectangular. Like part of the bumper was cut off. When the car is lowered a couple inches, and with blackouts on the lights. The car looks great. I also did a little mod to the front bumper. My c5 was also cammed etc. Here was my c5

I can see what you mean. Personally, I just think my car needs a little something more done to the back and tie it all in.

Here's my inspiration:

Your car looked great though, no doubt about it. I like the front end touch you did as well. Very clean.

what about semi gloss black on the side skirts and front lip? then when you added the rear black I think everything would flow together and make the car appear lower and wider

I like your car but not the front lip or skirts. As long as you think it looks good thats all that matters.

I think your car looks great. I would get the side skirts for mine, but I might rip them off, when I hit a cone autocrossing.

Haha yeah I had to differentiate myself from him a bit. I'm happy with the way it turned out. I don't think pictures do the car justice but you're right - I'm happy with it and that's all that matters.

I've seen that done and it just blends in on non-black cars. I didn't like the look and am glad I got it painted body-color.

Thanks! The side skirts reduce the clearance by maybe 1/8". They make the car appear lower but don't really reduce clearance. Just have to be careful on driveways and inclines.

I'm not a fan of that chin spoiler personally (or any of the C5 chin spoilers now that I think about it), but the last side profile shot looks sick.
