Default P0700 and P0716 C6 Corvette A6

Anyone else received these codes? Car is bone stock with 19k miles on it. I cleared them once and they take about 2-3 weeks to come back. Normally they come back when I am sitting at light. I feel a slight bump and then CEL showing these codes.

Any help would be appreciated as I have looked all over with very little luck. My only idea is to replace the VSS at this point since I found a thread that said that was successful in clearing this up.

Thanks. I figured out what the codes were but I am more so looking to see how people were able to fix them. I have seen everything recommended from replacing the VSS, the trans, bad grounds etc.

So this code comes back every 1500 to 2000 miles. It's really strange. I did a bunch of searching and others have had this problem but no one has posted a fix. It looks like the simplest option is replacing the input speed sensor. Unfortunately this requires removing the valve body but it's a good first place to start. The sensor is $20-40 depending on where you get it. I guess I'll order the part and go from there. It also looks like there is a special tool required to take the valve body out.

This thread mentions a Camaro with the same issue. He cleared it. Car drove fine then it came back. The dealer replaced the sensor and it corrected the issue.

I figured I would update this now that I have installed the new sensor. All is well. The install was kind of a pain with removing the pan. There are one or two bolts that are hard to get at. Otherwise its pretty straight forward. I used AllData to guide me through the process though.

Thanks for the update! I just hit these same codes on my 09 C6 Corvette A6 with A&A kit+meth....If stock cars are hitting this then maybe it's not just because of the extra power, I'm hoping anyway...
I've cleared the codes and waiting to see if they come back.

I hear the sensor is on top of the diff? If so, the trans needs to be dropped down?

Thanks,
Pj

Default Similar happening to me

the same codes have happened to me 2 times now. Both times I noticed that my temp had just passed 220 stuck in traffic. Being stuck under 2k until I turn it off, disconnecting battery has fixed it until I get stuck in the Texas heat again. do you know which sensor they needed to replace to fix it?

Seems to be the VSS. I've been lucky so far; I changed the trans fluid and filter, cleared the code, and hasn't com back yet.

Maybe someone else can chime in. Good luck.
