If you go for a C6Z, make sure it either has it's heads fixed (bronze guides and new stainless steel exhaust valves), or be willing to shell out the cash for the heads to be fixed.

The GS is a great platform for big power with a blower. The LS3 loves FI.

If it were my choice, I'd get an 06 Z. I've always been a believer in going for the lightest model year you can find. I don't like fully loaded sports cars. I try to stick to this principle when shopping. I couldn't find an 06 or 07 Z when I was shopping last month so I found a 09 2LT Z51 Coupe M6. Test Drove it and decided it was the one. I prefer the narrow body, simple looks of the base C6, so the GS was not for me. Although the split spoke z51 wheels might need an upgrade.

There is no right or wrong answer here, test drive both and whichever one you like go for it. I suppose get extended warranty on the motor if you can if your worried about dropping valves in the LS7.

GS, I would only get an 08+ z06 at this point. Plus the GS's motor would be cheaper to build/replace if you put a blower on.

GS - newer car for the same money with better reliability and still with tons of potential. Manual coupes pick up the Z's extras (dry sump, oil & diff coolers, etc.) if you care, as well as the TR6060 trans with the same gearing as the older Z51 package and updated interior. Of course the A6 with paddle shifting is available minus extras.

GS started in `10, it replaced the Z51 package.

Still thinking about going with the GS. The car will just be a bolt on car. I am also looking for a manual car.
