Howdy yall!

So my first car is a rusted out 1972 chevrolet nova. I took it to college and drove it for years. It is very unreliable. Brother had bought a 400$ S10 and blew it up with nitrous. I slapped a headgasket and gave it a sand paper hone and drove it for over a year. Well the mini spool finally gave out and took the rear end, and clutch with it. Figured since the synchros where bad 2 cylinders in the engine had bad compression and now the clutch and rear end are bad, this would be a good time for an upgrade.

So this is "La Negra" the C5

I would say that is a heck of a jump up!

It looks to be in good shape. C5's are good cars and not without flaws BUT well maintained cars last a long time why part of FL?

Yeah I live in Boca Raton for school. But I'm moving back home with the parents to save rent money since school is online now and not looking like that will change.

So I bounce between Boca Raton, and Homestead mostly.

This car seems to be a good deal. I was sick of craigslist shopping trying to get something from nothing.

Paid 7,500$ cash 1998, 79,000 miles no wrecks and the only performance parts I see on are some other type of corvette brakes and some replica Z06 style wheels (that Firestone just messed up).
Plan on keeping it bone stock as it's just a grocery getter and commuter. I have a hard time filling the 2 seats with me taking up 1 haha.

EBCM is bad, Coolant level sensor gets mad at me when I park on hills, Horn doesn't work, parking break doesn't work, driverside rear view mirror doesn't adjust left to right, leaks a drop of oil if left overnight (front of engine), and seats have slop in them as is customary for these cars. That's all that's wrong with it.

I'm hoping for it to last me at least 3 years.

I dd my black c5 and have 155k miles. Good fuel mileage and it’s fun. Bunch of electronic **** goes haywire sometimes. Good cars otherwise lol!

Nice car bro. I have a '98 as well and daily drove it from Riverview to McDill AFB, Tampa for a few years. The EBCM is a costly and common issue. Mine works when it wants to, then I reset it when it throws a code and keep on chugging. The 4l60e has gone out twice in mine. My next major "fix" will be a manual swap and switch to a newer '99+ ecm.

Enjoy man. C5's are the best value today...bar none.
