Default 04 LS6 crate engine?

Any modifications necessary to drop this motor into a 97 c5? Would the wiring harness be the same for the sensors?I know the exhaust manifolds are different and the fuel lines, and I would probably go with the ZO6 exhaust. Thanks Ed

AFAIK most of the sensors should work in the swap. Although unless the LS1 is dead, I wouldn't bother with the swap. The money you spend on the LS6 could make the LS1 run circles around it. The main differences between the LS6 and LS1 are better heads (any decent, ported, aftermarket casting will outflow these) , slightly bigger cam (still very mild), better valvetrain, and a better intake (which fits an LS1 and can be had for~$400).

I have the engine from another project that I was thinking about doing but now having second thoughts (57 Chevy).I was going to see if I can find a clean 97 C5 w/ a blown motor.

Makes sense then. If you can find an '01 then you can pretty much guarantee that everything will swap over without a problem. Then just find a tuner to copy over the relevant tables from a Z06 and you're good to go. '97 and '98's had some differences that will make it a little harder, but not impossible.

I'm pretty sure that '97 & '98 Corvette harnesses are different from '99+. However, you might be able to do it if you get a '99+ engine harness and PCM to go wtih the new motor. I'll refer you to Speartech to confirm this though. Find his link over there.---------->

Are there specific places that have C5's that are either lightly wrecked or have blown
motors? I'd like to find one without a motor, put an LQ9 in it with my T-72 turbo and
an IC up front.

I'm in the NYC area,I can look at local city auctions, but i probably will not, because they were probably abused.Try local auctions by you.I would stay away from salvage titles.
