Default Raced the new vette at the local 1/8 mile(Video inside)

http://www.suckycs.com/ownss/MVI_0739.avi

Only got 2 runs and missed third on my second pass.

Best pass was a 8.52@87.21 while smacking around a heads/cam 95 Cobra running slicks.

I was happy considering it was my first time out with intake and exhaust.

How would that run equate to a 1/4 mile run? I'm afraid the 1/8 times don't mean anything to me. Thanks!

Unfortunatley they closed down are local 1/4 mile before I had a chance to run it.(I don't like 1/8 mile either)

My guess would be 13.2@111 give or take

conversion that i have found to be fairly accurate is...1/8th X 1.55 = 1/4 est. so your 8.52 (1/8th) X 1.55 = 13.2 1/4 est.....87.21mph (1/8th) X 1.25 (conversion) = 109mph (approximate).....1/4 = 13.2 at 109mph (estimate).

The car is a 04 6spd Coupe

Mods include:
Halltech Stinger intake
Magnaflow Exhaust and X pipe

The last dyno pull was 335rwhp 350rwtq

This is my 3rd LS1 vehicle and from my experience they seem to pick up 24-25 mph in the last 1/8 mile.

Hopefully I will get it to a 1/4 mile track for some more acurate trap speeds in the near future.

I think it will go 111+ in decent weather

At 335 rwhp, a 111+ mph trap speed is unlikely unless you can get your car's total weight (including you and fuel) down to ~3100 lbs.

My 2000 SS went 12.59 @ 112.2 with a 3500lb race weight while dynoing 326/335(Exhaust,Lid,TB,FTRA)

At the same race weight with Cam and headers it went 12.0@117 while dynoing 365/360(TR224,Hooker LT,Pulley)

The vette feels stronger than the camaro when it had boltons.

I weigh 200lbs

Shall see?

When are you running your car with the new setup?

Well, good luck! I was just going by the formula I have here. Maybe it's the formula that sucks!

Unless the weather changes (predictions are good right now), I'll be at the drag strip on Saturday.

Nice!

I will have my fingers crossed for sun.

Make sure you come back and post your whole timeslip so we can check that formula.

Good Luck

I bought the car more to enjoy on the streets then to drag race.

It probablly won't see a tire (Unless I borrow a buddies set for a couple passes)

Sadly they closed are only local 1/4 mile track and the next closest thing runs 1-2 times a month and is at 2500' elevation. Not to mention you get 2-3 runs during an 8 hour period.(I have better things to do)

Things may change in the future but for now I am just enjoying driving the car.

I'm not a fan of these conversions. Some cars don't hook well, spin then hook,so the second half of the run is being calculated from the first half, but to me thats not accurate because of the tire spinning 60'.If the car launched on slicks i could see the calculation being close,or some cars have more top end and pull like mad after the 1/8 mile marker.Approximate seems like an understatment.Just my thoughts.

It's just a reference to get an idea. Nobody is taking them too seriously.

Exactly. At least it gives you some idea of what's being talked about.
