Default Thinking about modding my C5

Thinking about doing some light mods to my 2004 C5, any suggestions? Came with Corsa exhaust, so that's taken care of as I love the sound. Thanks! Here's a picture of the vette.

basic mods include: air intake, Long Tube Headers, high flow cats and catback exhaust...if 6 spd then shifter, if auto possibly a torque converter/gears and of course Tuning....multiple product choices, most of which are good, same for speedshops....you'll get lots of advice on which product is "best" (most of which is owner bias) - good luck.

Excellent advice above. You can waste alot of money on these. Don't believe the advertized HP gains.

Whats your goal? This needs to be decided first.

Anyways, you have the cat back so for cheap easy mods Airfilter like BlackWing or K&N or Varam or Vortex rammer ETC. Shifter maybe a shift light, if you are going to race. Finally new tires. The runflats are hard and slick. With all the above you should dyno around 320 at the wheels.

I guess it would be good to include that I do like racing, so speed is good. Also, by air filter do you mean just buy a replacement filter, or actually buy a new intake setup? Thanks!!

if you have a few grand to spend I would go w/ the blackwing, long tubes w/x pipe and no cats, chromoly pushrods, comp dual valve springs, and something along the lines of a 224/224 560/560 114lsa cam, and get it tuned by a good shop, also the shifter is a must.. w/ those mods done the car would have some nice power....

Don't exactly have a few grand atm ;P but I will have about $1100 or so to spend here in two weeks or so. I'm thinking either intake and / or shifter?

Blackwing + Hurst or B&M shifter and then call it quits to you're ready for some *real* power. Long tube headers aren't really a good bang for the buck mod IMO as they are usually $1,300 - $1,600 + install ($300 - $500) + possible tuning ($400 - $500).

Good luck,

Mark
