And busavette, the vettes HP has almost always been in the top teir for american performance. Before the Viper there really wasnt anything topping it from the US outside of race cars.

And I'd hope to god the Viper would have more power w/ an 8.0+L 10 cylinder engine. I think its an engineering feat that GM got 405hp from a stock engine and still got damn near 30mpg outta the thing and could sell it for 25k less than the Viper. And go talk to guys who bought Hennessey packages if you want to hear of joke horsepower. Their big Venom car get demolished by a TT 427 from LPE w/ less hp, more weight and an automatic.

I think its funny when FBody guys (& gals) disrespect the C5. I've been an FBody Enthusiast for a long time; owned 6 throughout the years. However, I'm very with my 2001 C5 Coupe, A4 (3.42) that puts down 395rwhp w/factory Heads.

Guys, would you say a full weight F-bod would need 370-380rwhp to keep up with a Z06 or new C6, or less or more. This of course is generally speaking.

At San Antonio Raceway my 01 C5 Coupe weighed in at 3340 lbs. on 1/2 tank of gas with me sitting in the car. So, substract 170 lbs. (my bdywt) & with the gas tank half full my C5 weighs 3170 lbs. My aftermarket exhaust system (from the engine all the way back) & Vig 2800 TC both weigh less than the factory counterparts. Therefore, a full wt. FBody would need more than 380rwhp to keep up with my C5 (395rwhp).

lol, obviously I was not talking about your modded, lightened C5, I am talking about a stock C6 or stock Z06.

True, no disrespect intended. I guess this Thread reminded me of my original performance goals of out doing a stock C5 Z06, which has 405hp (flywheel) & my C5 has around 474hp (flywheel). I guess I'll need to change out the stock Heads whenever the C6 Z06 w/500hp (flywheel) hits the street. Those numbers are just rumors.

However, what is not a rumor is a friend of mine in the USAR called me this morning to inform me he is getting activated (mobilized to active duty). Maybe 200+ Soldiers in my Reserve Unit are getting mobilized. If that happens to me I'll have to have my wife drive the C5 every once in awhile in my abscence. I drive her 2004 Honda S2000 around whenever we go out for the evening, yet nobody except me (or LG Motorsports) drives my C5.

Anyway, long live the FBody.

Z06 weighs in at 3100 lbs or less. Don't know what the new Z06 will weigh or have HP wise, but that is the car I have to worry about...LOL!

All the rumors are pointing towards sub 3000 w/ ~450-500hp...so it'll definatly be one hell of a ride.

Ive been seeing stock C6s do about 13.0 @ 110 on forums. A friend of mine drove a new C6 and then my car the next day and thinks mine pulls harder.
