Default Z06 Chatter when shutdown

I have an 03 Z06 and there's a loud chatter when the motor comes to a stop during shutdown? I turn the key off and it's like a chatter that comes to a stop after about a second. Is this normal or should I bring it to the dealer under the factory warranty?

It drives great and has no problems other than this.

Okay great. I bought the car with 4200 miles so someone probably kept the video.

Thanks guys.

I was recently wondering the same thing. It only chatters when the clutch is out. When I turn the car off and the clutch is pushed in it makes no sound at all.

I bet mine's worse than your guys. Sounds like the whole car is a bucket of bolts all coming loose at once when I turn the car off. Solution is to hold in the clutch as mentioned, but it's kind of funny the "beater sounds" the car makes being $50k when new.

I believe I read somewhere that the noise has something to do with the different flywheel/clutch used on the ZO6 compared to the regular C5. I just hold in the clutch like mentioned above. Problem solved.

God you think that is bad should hear my McLeod Dual Disk at shut down and driving. You can feel and hear the rotating mass. I am going back to something different. But when I had my stock clutch it a similar sound.

I always press in the clutch to avoid this noise. Does it hurt anything if you dont?
