Default ZR1 wheels on a C5

I have a 2000 C5 and I want to put some 17x11 ZR1 wheels on it for the drag strip. Will the ZR1 wheels fit on the rear end of a C5? I plan on putting 315/35's on the rims. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What size tires do you have on them?

When you put those rims on the C5, what kind (if any) mods did you have to make? I was told by a tire shop that 315 tires will rub the inside wheel well.

Well I bought the ZR1 wheels. Next is the 315/35's. I hope all goes well! If so I should see mid 12's in the 1/4. I got 13.0 at 114mph with 2.3 60ft. All this with serious traction problems!!

I had the 315 Nitto Drag Radials and I managed a 1.61 60' with that set up.

Goo Luck !

Has anyone had any rear end problems with hard launches on this setup?

You might want to invest in a hardened output shaft. $300-$400 from almost any that sells C5 stuff at the right. ----------->

Do you have to drop the whole transmition/rear end to get the hardened output shaft installed?

ITs really easy to install. drop the rear cradle, lower diff and trans.(trans can stay in car) slide off rear diff, tear diff apart, put back together.... OK ok there is a little more than that but really its not all that bad.
