New Heads/Cam installed #'s within...
425.6 RWHP & 389 RWT
These numbers are without an underdrive pulley, 23 degrees of timing and running rich.
I figure 3 degrees more timing, leaning the fuel out, and the addition of an underdrive pulley will put me between 435 and 440 RWHP.
I'm taking it to the strip this Wednesday (weather permitting)
Mid 11's are my goal, so here's hoping it happens!

Sweet man, can you give details on the rest of the setup? Which intake setup, which headers, which catback, which cam, etc?

The 5.3 liter truck heads, and Cam were installed by Speed Demon Motorsports in Houston.
The heads were reworked with the 918 springs and titanium retainers, 2.02 and 1.5x? valves.
I'm not exactly sure of the cam specs, but its between a 221 and a 226 I believe.
Chris at Speed Demon would know.
I've outran a couple of Velocity Vettes and an MTI stage II F-body on the street.
Once I add the pulley, add 2 - 3 degrees of timing and lean the fuel out a bit I expect to get around 435 - 440 RWHP.

Hey Scott,
Dont know if you remember me from RCR, but we were out there with the Pewter WS6 borrowing your helmet. Anyways, you met my brother Corey with the Green c4 at your vette lunch.
Nice numbers man. I have a set of 5.3l truck heads sitting here waiting to be installed as well. Hope to hit 400 hp somehow. Were your heads's done by Speed Demon? I remember seeing some flow numbers from their work that didnt seem that huge, so you definitely have your set-up tuned well.

Yep,
I remember loaning Ya'll the helmet.
The flow numbers from my setup were pretty darn awesome.
I'm not at liberty to say what they are, but trust me these heads flow!
I've got a bit more tuning to do, and I've also got to get a few launches on the ET Streets under my belt.
Afterwards I'm hoping to hit mid 11's.
I should be at RCR tomorrow if everything goes right.
You guys comin' out anytime soon?
Cya at the track.
Scott

Re: New Heads/Cam installed #'s within...
I'm 95% sure speed demon uses GTP to port their heads.
Good numbers scott, I'll be out at RCR whenever I can afford a clutch and headers, but I think im gonna end up getting z06 springs and some konis first. I still dig the curves more than the strip.
These heads made 415rwhp on my camaro so as soon as I unbutton the exhaust on this vette I should see similar results.

I need to come out and do the road racing AutoX thing as well.
I'm betting your numbers will be real similiar to those on the Camaro as well.

Jon, this is the pewter heads/cam C5 I was telling you about in the Austin area.
Scott, I'll be at RCR Wed but I will be there early and I will be leaving early. Maybe we can line em up.

I see that you have a cam now.
You were running some pretty impressive times with
just a torque converter.
I'm betting you are getting some slammin' numbers now!
I may not be able to roll out to RCR today.
My bud was supposed to transport my ET Streets and stuff and he isn't able to come.
The Mickeys won't fit in my Vette, and I don't want to drive an hour and a half on 'em.
I'm going to call another bud of mine this morning and see if he can help me out.
Hope to see you there.

Loco, I'd actually met scott at RCR well over a year ago when I was down there with my heads/cam SS. He showed up with 2thDR (viper dude at the time) who had been talking smack on ls1.com. I ended up pulling a better time and mph than the viper dude that day, and have the timeslip laying around somewhere.

Seriously though, if you want help putting the heads on, its a piece of cake. I did the whole job with maybe 3 sockets, 2 wrenches, a torque wrench, some pliers, and a screwdriver. I'll be willing to help for sure.

Re: New Heads/Cam installed #'s within...
How about we all get together and do the head swap and underdrive pulley installs?
Not all on one day of course.
JMX,
When are you planning to do your pulley?
Let me know and I'll come on over.
On a side note I went to RCR last night to try out the ET Streets.
I basically bogged every time out of the hole.
My best 60' was a lackluster 1.90
On my 6th and final run I launched @ 5k, bogged and had a 1.90 60.
I would launch higher, but I'm sure that I would snap an output shaft.
Loco was running some very nice times though.

Now that I think about it, I'm going to start off with about 25 psi and a 4K launch.
If I spin I'll drop the pressure and work my way down with the tire pressure vs working my way up with the RPM.
