Would you like to run this by me again? Your dealer is saying that because it's a Z06, there is no warranty? How rediculous is that? Every GM vehicle sold in this country has a factory warranty. Oh that's just plain silly... <img border="0" alt="[bullshit]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_bs.gif" />

oringally he had a line lock on his car when he went to a dealer. They replaced parts, apparently unrelated to a line lock, then when he left the car was "black listed" as a race car and they voided his warranty.

Thats what he posted earlier at least.

IMO, if you can read, it says if you mod your car you lose warranty. If you read even more you learn that they will cover your car if the mod doesn't cause the breakage. They have to prove that the mod in question caused the part(s) to break which you are requesting to have repaired. If you push a little bit you get **** done, just let them know where you stand.

Oddly enough, when I went in with my mods and flp's/orp/cutout open the tech guys really like the car and know **** will break, so they have no problem replacing what I asked (a window seal that came loose on the car and leaked). They know if I break a trans or rear or motor that I wont come crying to them when I caused it to break. **** they even offered to help install my 12 bolt for me. There are dealers who are ******** and there are dealers who are straight up badass.

GM's warranty, as it is written, gives dealerships a lot of latitude. if they suspect drag/road racing caused damage, they can and usually will tell you to take a flying leap. this is where personality becomes at issue. if you come off as an a-hole, you can bet they will treat you like one. on the other hand if you can talk to the service manager/mechanic in a technical way, and keep your cool, you might just pursuade them to wright it up under a warranty claim.
then again, sometimes you just have to slam the car door on your hand before you go into the dealership.

in short, my car WILL not be going to a dealer unless its something simple like a window motor. sure, they might replace the part after you hassle them, but they can do stuff in return, like scratch your paint, and overtighten parts.
