why do C5's put down less power?

This is assuming that he has Active Handling as an option. AH became standard in 2001 and was an option before that. The button will be labled "Active Handling" if you have it or it will be labled "Traction Control" if you don't.

i dunno i got the one then i have like the switch button **** next to it that you turn to like tour, sport, performance

The second **** is for shocks, magnetic ride or something like that.
