Newbie question

Hey there, I've been looking at buying a c5 97-99 coupe 6-spd. I'm selling my mustang drag car/ trailer currently and that will fund my new project. I was looking at doing a cam, long tubes and headwork. Does this look like a decent path to go? Never really had any experience with corvettes other than an 84 misfire injection. I would love a z06, but budget doesn;t allow it. Please let me know what you think. thanks

Good exhaust, intake, heads, and cam are all you need to get into the 400+ rwhp range even with a conservative setup. So depending on your goals I guess you would know if that is what you were hoping for.

i think that 425-450 na rwhp would be a decent number and probably atainable with good parts and tune. i cant wait to get rid of the ford and make way for the c5.

The Vette is just such a solid platform for peformance. Lightweight, stong frame, easily modifiable engine, with big potential. I am sure you will be happy with your decision. If you come by Erie at all contact me and we'll go for a spin.

Yes, it is about 3.5 hours from here...maybe a bit more. I haven't been to Buffalo in about a year. We went out to US Dragway northeast of there I think.
