Im also into body builing and am 5 foot 7 and way 205 pounds with a current 15% body fat....

Im not abonormaly strong but can bench press 380 pounds for 1 rep..

It seems like every time I talk to people I know they have to tell me about some one else just as big or bigger...

And the most famous response..

ARE YOU GETTING SMALLER? YOUR ARMS ARE LOOKING A LITTLE SMALLER?

Of course I know Ive maitained 192-209 for the past 3 years...

There just always trying to get you down..

I guess the C5 is the same way..

It's the lightest....supposedly strongest and most expensive GM performance car back in 2000...

And everyone wants to know if it's arms are getting smaller instead of aknowledging it for the great performance car that it is.

 

Man you body builders make me feel like a whimp. At 5' 11" and 165lb I benched 240lbs, allthough, could do it for 80 reps, kidding 10 reps. I still have a bench and weights but because of neck injury it's all on hold. Now back to the cars, DEC GM High Tech and Performance rag has a repeat of thier March 04 Z06 test, when they ran 11.97 bone stock. Also, article on bone stock f-body running 12.xx and a bunch of other similar look backs, very insightful.

When I started reading your thread I took it for face value that you were just venting. The more I read, the more it appeared to me that you are whining like the typical vette *******. I agree with most of the facts that you stated, but your opinions start to migrate to the holier than thou because it costs more. Just because it's more expensive doesn't mean people will automatically want a vettte over a Camaro, GTO, Firebird, etc... Some people are very loyal to certain models.

You are generalizing way too much. IMO, more F-bodies are modded than vettes. So if the average F-body owner says they are quicker than the average vette, more than likely they'd be correct. One of the most important things that you fail to include in alot of you comparisons is the human factor. Sure you mentioned it a few times, but all things being equal, we are the weak link.

The internet age it is full of forum warriors. You seem to be aware of everything that is typed isn't necesarrily true yet you still let it get to you. Every car you run will never be the same, even identical year, mods, & models. If the first post I made here was my '05 goat ran a 12.7 stock 1st time out, I'd get the BS flag from everyone (actually never ran it yet). The only posts you believe are from the reputable & respected members. And those are gained over time.

Anyone who has a clue know the capabilities of most performance sports cars. Most people know the pecking order. IMO, the only people that bad mouth rides are either ignorant or are taking advantage of insecure people.

For the record I had a '98 A4 Vette and now an '05 A4 GTO. I think the goat is definately quicker than my vette was, has better interior, and is more fun. The only points where my vette was better was the brakes, handling, and better styling. My friends that have driven both of my cars agree on all points.

To me what it all boils down to is, I can give a rats *** for others opinion, mine is all that matters. Take a chill pill. Know in confidence that you have a bad assed ride, have fun and whip up on the mustangs and imports.
