Default First Mods...

Ok so in two weeks I should be picking up my C5. It's a 2000, M6, bone stock, owned by an old lady it's entire life. The car has 64,513 miles on it. I need it to be as fast as my 240.

I was thinking of using my wet kit from my 240 and spraying a 125 shot in combination with an LS6 intake mani, and Kooks LT's, off-road X-Pipe, cutouts.

Would there be any suggestions that you guys could give me? I don't have the money to waste on heads. I have read so many posts and seen so many dyno numbers that unless I go crazy I don't want to swap heads. TRMN8R seemed to do just fine on his LS1 with stock cubes/stock heads. Also, if I wanted to spray a 150+ shot should I pick up some 01+/ZO6 injectors and if I do what tune would I need/want. Would one of the Predator tuner's work, or are they cheap gimmicks? I have tried to read up on all the stickies/all the power threads on this site and many others before asking.

Thank you for your time!

Long story, I never got another run because my intercooler coupler snapped and wouldn't hold high boost. Still 120 trap speed without spray was nice.

The Vette is the new toy but there is no way I can stand it being slower than the 240. Once you get used to a certain "oomph" factor you kinda need it again.

it will be easy to run 13.0 in your c5 but that 120 is gonna take some work...or some spray...LOL!

Your mods sound good. Just be sure to run the nitrous safely, as I'm sure you will since you have experience with it.

Oh, and practice getting your 60' out of the stratosphere. :p

Hahaha, for the record the very next run was a 1.72 60' and then around the 330' mark the intercooler pipe popped off. I am hoping to run close to 13.0 stock. Then with spray alone dip into the low 12's. Do you guys upgrade fuel pumps? I know on my 240 I went with a walbro 255lph, is there something else that you guys use?

You will be able to beat your old car with ease.
Is it an auto or a M6?

I would get a vararam and some tires to start off with.

My Vette is a M6.

I was looking at the Vararam Intake system, is it really that good of an intake. The manufacturer claims are almost outlandish, 30hp and .5 second off ET's? Kooks Longtube/X-pipe system, cut-out's, and the nitrous is what is being planned on right now.

I still have questions about the nitrous. If I want a 150 shot do I need to get bigger injectors or a bigger fuel pump?

I have one on my car and I really like it although its only good for about .1 .2 tenths.

Since it is a M6 the first mod I would get is a shifter.
I have/like the hurst.

I would get good tires, bolt ons, and some seat time before you start throwing the nitrous on.

Yea I know what you mean bout your old car is faster than the vette. I had a GST Eclipse with upgrade, well almost everything making roughly 400 whp at 26 lbs. But I just had a son and money is tight, but Im like you I want mine faster. I plan on getting LT, BIG cam, and a really good tune and then the ole eclipse wouldnt touch it. Well good luck with the mods, they sound good to me. My buddy runs a 150 shot in his vette and has not touched the fuel pump. And there are no problems.
