Default My project starts...

Started turning some wrenches this weekend.

Don't laugh at my fender covers!

Tomorrow, the heads will be coming off. They look REALLY good....as they should, they don't have 15k miles on them.

Here's some of the misc parts that came off.

And the big guy that came off the middle of that thing.....

I should have more pics as we progress to the new monster.

Dropping a 402 in and when the KB ever comes out, that will go on top.

Ok, more work done today. Let me warn you about air tools, if you don't have the socket on the bolt good enough, don't hit the trigger!

This is one of my many goofs (rounded the bolt on the air tube)

We got the heads pulled. This is a bad pic, but I am trying to show you the reason for a new motor (#7 in the back has a pretty rough cylinder)

Here's the other side

One thing that kinda chapped me a$$ is this....I'll give a cookie to the first person that can guess what the problem is.

Ok well I am going to ask you a few ?s about your roject here as you go along......
What kind of 402 are you going to build?
Where are you getting your parts?
I have heard of soo many people who do this project adn they always go for the most expensive people around...dumb idea id say....
Are you going N/A? or turbo/supercharger setup?

looks like fun....

looks like you can pick the motor from the top right!

damn.... looks like it would be about 50% easier to do a H/C swap on a C5 than a F-body.....

good luck!

btw.... have you seent the numbers from the new paxton/ecs kit! DAMN.....
but sounds like your going to do the KB. cant wait to see some #'s

I am still deciding on which vendor to go with, but it will be one local here to DFW. It's actually going to come out a hair over 409 CI from an LS2 block. I think it's 68CC on the heads with -32 pistons giving me a CR of 8.5.
Parts are going to be from vendor I go with, but the rotating assembly is going to be Callies crank/rods and JE pistons.
I am trying not to spend a truck load of money, but for something like this, that is nearly impossible to do.
When the Kenne Bell comes out in March, I am going to get one of those kits. They are capable of 18psi, but I am only going to run ~12-14.

I have and they are very nice. I can't wait to see what this one will do as well. I was spoiled with the instant boost I got with my magna charger, which is why I am going this way again.
