a non removeable permanent HARD TOP, think Z06 body style, without the brake ducts.
The TARGA or HATCH back, or LIFTBACK are the more common, vettes you'll see around.

In the corvette world, it means Fixed Roof Coupe.
It was a low option, lighter, slighly cheaper Corvette. It evolved into the Z06 in 2001. It's over 200lbs lighter than a Corvette coupe.
Here's a cool picture showing all three styles. The hardtop is up front.

if you subrtract the curb weights of the 1999 M6 coupe and the FRC you get:
3230-3174 = 56lbs
Most people tend to say 80 because most coupes are autos.
auto coupe vs FRC
3253-3174 = 79 lbs
And, if you bought a 97 vette like me the difference is even closer but not much.

97 M6 coupe vs FRC
3218-3174 = 44 lbs
