Not totally relevant, but I had my C5 coupe weighed recently. With no weight reduction it weighed 3163. A Z06 should be a bit lighter.

its called eating less.... but seriously, there isnt much weight to be shaved off and still have a good comfortable car, the first place I would look would be the most expensive and best light weight rims, I think that would make a bigger difference than any weight reduction you could do.... and run it a 1/2 tank of gas, no washer fluid, light weight batt., I guess those types of things would help also...

My Z06 weight was around 3168 with a full tank of gas, and some extra stuff in the trunk (5 quarts of oil, tools, flashlight, and a few other things). I figure the car only gets lighter from there when I carry less and have less gas in the tank. I wanted to know the worst possible weight so I put in some extra stuff.

Mine weighs 3080lbs with heavy aftermarket 18 x 10.5 rims all around and half a tank of gas.

Aftermarket brake rotors, lightwt wheels, check the tire weights (you would be suprisied how much heavier some tires are than others. This is all rotational weight which makes a noticeable difference in performance. Also headers and custom exhaust can pick you up some. It is not easy to take more than 50 lbs out of a z06 without stripping it of the obvious creature comforts.

thanks for the info guys....

i figured a few pounds could be lost by doing the LG lt kit... maybe shave 25lbs over the stock cast iron manifolds. maybe save 10lbs with a lighter batt.
how much does the a/c weight in a Z06? same as an f-bod?

If you have the stock battery keep it...I weighed mine and it was as light or lighter than an optima...GM spent a lot of money to get this car as light as it is so it is very hard to improve on that.

Shipping weight on a Z06 as they came from the factory with about 2 gallons of gas in them was 3045 pounds..it was printed on the cars invoice...I like the "I try to keep my wife out of it" comment...still chuckling on that one.. ..

The only way you could get to that weight is to pull some weight out of the car..or you were on a an incorrect scale..

3340 with my 180lbs *** in it. So that's 3160 with a 5 point roll bar, skinnies, no cats, etc.. in my 98 Coupe.

I am amazed at all the F body cars that are lighter than a Corvette..C5 Corvette coup (1997-2994) is over 3200 lbs...the only way to get to these weights if they are correct is to lighten the car..
