Default Sound systems

What kind of sound systems are you guys running in your vettes? I have a pioneer head unit which isn't to bad and the bose system so I'm thinking I need a speaker upgrade.

What size speakers do I have? Yes I know how to tear and interior apart but id' rather not pull everything out to figure it out and then put it back together so I cacn pull it off again to install..

Thanks.

Full JL Audio XR series speakers. 2 12W6's with a 1000/1 amp and a 450 amp. Sounds wicked with tweaters and subs.............It made my mirror fall off 3 times then decided to just take it off and put a stick on window kind up there....

I can count on two hands how many times I've turned my stereo on in my Vette in the last year and a half.

NoS John, what did that Bose interface cost??? I was trying to navigate through their new site, without any luck. They need alot of work on that site... That is a damn nice product though i must say!

Is there alot of room behind the dash for the Bose adapter though? I have put a TON of radios in and space is an issue. That looks rather bulky!?

I ran a Alpine 9815 head unit, Focal front components, JL rear fill speakers, JL 8W7 subwoofer, and a JL 500/5 to power everything. Sounded awesome in my FRC vette. Don't remember speaker size off the top of my head, but I believe it was 6.5" or so..

Eclipse Head Unit with DVD, Nav, and back-up camera:

I need speakers in the thing now, the stock Bose stuff does not like to work well with aftermarket headunits.

You can get the Bose interface form like crutchfield.com and at circuit city. I am using the bose interface in my 2500HD and it sounds nice. I am also running 1 solobaric l7. The system sounds nice. Sounds better than my friends truck where he replaced all the speakers and new amp. The bose sounds nice with an aftermarket deck, just take some time to adjust the settings in the deck and on the interface itself.

Where is the bose amplifier in the corvette?
