450+ rwhp Z06 @ LACR

450+ rwhp Z06 @ LACR
Took her out to LACR again last night. LACR is one of the slowest tracks west of the Mississippi, where our buddies 580 hp 2004 Turbo Porsche ran a corrected best of 11.6 @ 122mph on his 2nd pass (12.0 @119 on the slip). Info on why LACR is so crappy? Read the end of this thread.
Last Wednesday I was upset that I could only get the car to go 12.5@114 w/ a 2.00 60ft (corrected to 12.1@118 for sea-level) I knew the car had 11 second potential so we convinced a good friend who's is a pretty decent driver to go out and race with us- this guy had never been in my car until last night and bam -
first run 12.41 @116.7 2.07 60 ft
second run 12.40 @ 117.9 2.23 60 ft
third run 12.45 @ 108.1 2.06 60 ft (missed 3rd)
Fourth run 12.32 @ 113.6 2.09 60 ft (missed 4th)
Final run 12.18 @ 117.3 2.09 60 ft
That 12.18 @ 117.3 corrected is an 11.81 @ 120.8 - had my friend known that car better (remember - he hadn't even sat inside it til last night) I bet he would've cut a better 60 ft and gotten a 12.0 at LACR. I learned a bunch about how to launch the car last night and planning on going back soon to get that 12.0 which would be an 11.6 with Toyo RA 1's out back. Will report back when better times are had.
Another Vette with 440 rwhp and 4.10 gears just wasn't hooking & was having tranny issues- saw him run a 12.7 - If your reading this, please report on your best time.
For those who dont know why LACR's such a slow track.
A.its 2,700 ft above sea level. I'm told the horrid DA augments the altitude at times making the track "feel" or "perform like its much higher up.
B.Its an extremely dusty / sandy track & usually has a nice Antelope Valley wind that is almost never at your tail.
C. And of course our friends that run 15 second imports (we're in LA, remember) drive through the water box, then dust of the water a bit on their way to making the starting area as wet as a teenagers bed on Mtv's Room Raiders. There are a lot of import racers that do it right, much respect to them and a bunch of really quick 4 bangersits the newbies that mess up the starting area for the rest of us
FYI - Correction factor for LACR according to NHRA on their web sight is .97 for et and 1.03 for mph.

Well if your going to LACR to get wonderful timeslips, as you already know its not gonna happen. Anyone who's ever been there, knows that track stinks to high heaven. Its a little better in the summertime with the heat on it, and I plan to go alot this summer. Traction in the winter is non-existent. Heres my video from 3 weeks ago on street tires and 18" Z06 Chrome Wheels.

Wow, I posted this over a year ago. Can't believe its still around. Anyways, this car is getting some work done to it and should be a bit stronger very soon.
LACR is a crappy track for great e.t.'s but at least it gets us off the streets.
BTW- the 12.1 was acheived with a faulty MAF.
