Also, I can rebuild the LS1 in the '97 and toss on my spare set of LS6 heads and a little emmisions friendly cam..

Thoughts?

Only reason not too? Because you suck and got/had enough toys!

Naw, I see no reason why not to pick it up. Outside of the milage, but you said you can rebuild it so why not? Go for it and see what she's got.

Yea, bit worried about all the other parts being worn out like the suspension, trans, AC and such..

It's either $12k for this or $20k for a NICE low miles FRC '99... at $12k I have more money to dump into Penny

Just a ton of miles, my bro bought a 97 with 10k miles for only $5,000 more.

I don't know why you would want it unless you were pulling the motor and trans and doing it as a racecar.

With a six-speed? I can find Auto all day long for cheap.. not so easy with an M6..

Besides $5k is $5k more I can dump into my '68

Hmmm.. decisions..

$12K is still $12K you can dump into penny too.

but, I'd take the high mileage LS1 over an LT1 anyday.

Nassau Blue is pretty rare, go for it! The 97s are not any less reliable than any other year, even though it was the first year of production.

Thats easy If your going to build a race car this is the perfect way to go sence you will eventualy replace everything!! If you are going to drive this car for long then you will want to look for something with fewer miles and meybe a little newer as you will replace EVERYTHING sooner or latter!!

$12k is pretty cheap, but you will be replacing a lot of stuff on that car.
