If you can't do that, your next best bet(not like its a bad choice) is the FRC vette. Either way, your gonna need to do the bottem end if your gonna throw boost at it, no matter what(unless your gonna go with a SMALL psi number, and why would you wanna do that?). The heads, thats a given, easy swap. Suspension,...well, you can add any shock you'd like,....or that you could afford. Like the Z06 brake ducts do ya? Me too. Buy em, add em. Done. Just don't put Z06 badges on it.

It's like someone here said, get what YOU really want cause, you might not be satisfied.

Personally, "I" wanted a Z06. At the time, it was not realistic for me to go out and purchase one,....just wasn't. So I bought a FRC. I honestly couldn't be more happy man, especially when I walk Z06's.

Anything can be fast. Best wishes on your selection.

Yep!

A lot depends on what you want to do. I was going to buy a Z06 but opted for a low mileage coupe cause I like the Targa top. Then I proceeded to Mod it with H/C and upgraded suspension. All depends on your budget and what you like more. Good luck in your choice.

well all up to you of course...

But I think it would be an easy decision...

Do I want a 500 rwhp vette that handles good and the roof comes off...

Or do I want a 400 rwhp Vette that handles GREAT and has a fixed roof....

Unless I was gonna road race the car i'd defiently by the coupe and put the blower on it.

A supercharged coupe will rape a long tubed Z06 like theres no tomorrow in a street race from any mph.

About the LOWEST rwhp you could expect from a supercharged coupe with no other supporting mods would be 430 rwhp from an auto C5 on only 5-6 psi of boost...

The MOST you could expect from a long tubed 2002 Z06 is 385 rwhp with no other supporting mods.

-The Z06 will still be 150 pounds lighter than that coupe
-The coupe will still have better arodynamics than the Z06.. .29 vrs .31

But you'll still have a minimum of 45 more rwhp by choosing the coupe and going FI....

And honestly you dont read of many coupes dynoing 430 rwhp with the normal 7-8 pounds....most people get atleaste 450 rwhp. ( even the autos)

2.73 Vette, How does a coupe have better drag coefficient than a frc/z06? Makes no sense? (not saying your wrong)

I reallllllly like the idea of being able to take the roof off the car, but I really dont think i could pass up the prestiege a Z06 has. (at least to me) People see the regular coupes all day long, but when I see the z06 badge and the darker wheels and the sound of the titanium exhaust, I get a smile every time! Personally i'd take the Z!

Get the FRC. They're light and inexpensive as far as vettes go. There aren't many Zo6s that I can't put bus lengths on in one stab of the throttle. Plus the stock LS1 is safer to boost due to the lower compression ratio.

Why thank you. It's my DD, so I didn't want to push it to far.

I love the FRC body style compared to the hatch look. If I had the coupe, that top would never go on...

How does it not make sense? The FRC/Z06's have slightly more taller front windshields which make them have worse drag coefficients than the coupes.

I don't understand the point of arguing. At the limit aren't they the same car? The only characteristics that won't essentially equal each other in the end are a removable top vs a hard top, and the drag coefficient. Other than that at the upper limit of modding they are the same.

Get what YOU want and what is affordable. To me it didn't really matter, as long as it was a 6 speed. I like the thought of removing the roof as well so....there ya go.

I love Corvette's period so...
