Default Offroad X pipe for c5 *help*

Ok I dont have alot of experience with c5 corvette exhaust systems, but I have a friend who is looking into buying an offroad x pipe for his 02 c5. What kind offerings do exhaust companies have for this sorta want?

Cliff notes: c5 owner wants to go catless exhaust, what do most guys buy?

ok after doing alittle bit of research you need the bassani front offroad pipes AND a aftermarket rear x pipe? The Bassani p# C5012 isnt the whole piece is it, that connects from factory manifolds all the way back to the catback?

ok well I talked with my buddy and he really just wants to do away with the cats. So let me see what you guys think about just buying the Bassani offroad pipes and using the stock rear crossover exiting through a corsa catback? Is that going to be bad to go from free flow to restriction to free flow?

does he not want to spend $$?, if not he can cut the pipes behind the cats and gut them, reweld the pipes back on and whala", I know most peices you have to weld anyway...

trust me. C5012 Bassani is the only one that eliminates the cats with stock headers...ive done all the calling. Magnaflow and everyone else only makes the cat to muffler x-pipe. The other off road x's you see like the Kooks only work with their headers...Random Tech with TPIS headers...etc

Yes all your buddy needs is C5012 to do the job...if that is correct for his year C5...mine is 01.

I have the pieces sitting on my garage floor and they look just like the pic I posted. Soon we will see how loud the STS TURBO is...maybe I will have to unload it...

With the hi flow cats on the Z06, and the lack of pup cats, I doubt you are going to see much gain. 7-10 RWHP max would be my guess. But, if you couple a tune with it, it may be as much as 15. But I think a tune alone is worth 5-8.

My buddies Z06 with LG longtubes without cats and stock Z06 mufflers is the best sounding vette ive ever heard. Not much louder until you hammer on it...then WOW...distinctive sound.
