Default For those of you running Prochargers in C6 vettes...

I ran across this "do it yourself" mod that someone on the C6 corvette forum did. He describes it pretty well, and it seems to help significantly lower engine temps in hot areas (TEXAS). Some others on the forum have done it as well, seems to be working for them as well. I don't have a C6 or a procharger, so I can't attest to the mod myself. But, it looked like good stuff so I thought I would link it here so others may check it out. Let me know what you think.

Read that good to hear and well worth the extra time to get the temps down.

Dang, those Procharger intercoolers are thick on the C6. His modification is a good idea, I'm surprised they weren't forward-mounted off of the radiator in the first place.

My Magnacharger has a thin air/water heat exchanger, maybe 1" thick, that sits in front of the radiator. Engine coolant temps never go over 189F, even in 95F weather. Only cooling mods I have are a 160F t-stat and changing the electric fan settings.

I would have done a hood anyways, I like my hood. I may switch to a twin-turbo setup later, but I'll still keep the RK hood. Not sure why that is funny?

No disrespect, your hood is nice. It just sucks that the magnacharger doesn't fit under the stock hood or the lingenfelter CES hood (which looks sweet). As soon as I get my 68 finished, I am going to get a C6 and would like to supercharge it (as it will be more street drivable). But it looks like I will have to stick with the procharger to get it under the CES hood that I want to put on it. I like the looks and low end torque\power of the maggie, just frustrating dropping all the money on it and not being able to get it into the body mods I want. I guess life is full of compromises.

p.s. if you haven't seen the hood\body kit......

I like the RK hood better than the Lingenfelter hood. I agree with it being a bitch about swapping out hoods for the Maggie, but from what I've seen (even on the C5's) its' well worth it.
