Man...I cant beleave you can find 2002 z06's for mid 20's...

When i first started lusting for corvettes in 2001 I wasnt able to afford one till 3 years later in 2004..

i bought a brand new 2004 for 51 grand in march of 2004...Since the prices of all the 98-2004 Vettes i had looked at from 2001-2004 Had been 30-50 grand even for used 97-2004 models i figured i was doing a smart thing and the car would hold it's value..

but man when the C6 came out it seems like C5's dropped 5 grand in value that same day and have been on a steady decline....

Thought i was getting robbed when i sold my 2004 C5 for 34.5 grand 6 months ago. Now I'm happy i did it cas id be lucky to get 30 grand for it now.....

Dam...for 25 grand I need to go find a c5z06 to DD...Thats insanely low. And 55 k miles is just getting warmed up for the LS6 IMHO...

Im torn, I have rode in both, knew I was going to full mods h/c, so I went with the coupe z51, I do like the extra room and the removable top, at the time z06's were still getting top dollar, prob step to a c6 zo6 in a few years, well thats the goal any way.

I voted for the Z06. Get the best of both worlds. Buy a Z06 and chop the top! I've seen a few of them down here. I love verts but I really wanted a Z06. And no, i'm not chopping my top.

I decided against the Z06 just because of lack of options ie sport seats and targa top.

Personally I wanted an Auto (with a big stall )and Removable top, so I chose the Coupe. Driving around in the summer with the top in the trunk is awesome, plus the insurance rate quoted to me was quite a bit lower on a Non-Z06. Easy choice for me.

Z06 was a great choice. As a previous coupe owner, the Z06 runs circles around it in every way. Man you got a killer deal for sure. I just Blue Booked mine and it still lists at $37K, more than I paid for it.

I've had a vert and a hardtop FRC. The vert was nice for cruising and was a stunning car at the time ('98), but for performance, you just can't beat the fixed roof's stability, the 3:42 rear, the M6 or M12 tranny, etc.! Also, without all of the fancy extra's, I don't feel guilty about tearing it apart or beating the **** out of it, if I feel like it!

in my opinion go with a coupe, u can get the best of a convertible world or a hard top, ull pay less, have a better drag coeciefient (sp?) and if u want more power u can build it up like any other corvette

To each his own, go with your gut instinct. Each have their pros and cons. If you got the coupe best of vert and hardtop.
