Default 02-04 Z06 performance questions

im looking to trade my car for a 02-04 Z06, and im wondering what they are capable of.

with lets say H/C/I/E, what will one put to the wheels, and with a good driver, what will one run?

anything else i should know?

with some etp heads and a custom cam with long tubes and exhaust you could pull 500rwhp. don't know exactly what you would get on the track though, i would guess low 11's.

425rwhp seems pretty easy, some folks claim 475rwhp with stuff like 90/90 intake/tb, ewp...crank pulley

so 500RWHP is possible with bolt on's?

on these, do you have to pull the K member to install headers?

i dont see why a 500RWHP Z06 wouldnt be a 10 second car with a good driver, since a 500RWHP 03 cobra is.

i saw a guy on z06vette that had etp's and a custom cam and all bolt ons and he had around 495 rwhp. i think it would be hard to get it i would shoot for 475. i've seen plenty of people who have got that on a stock bottom end. i think you will be very happy when you trade your car. i had 490rwhp with my 03 cobra and after i traded it for a z06 i was a lot happier with it. they are awesome cars.

well im pushing 640+RWHP in my cobra, and i know the Z06 is going to be slower, even with full bolt on's, but i just want something new.

only thing i dont like about the 01-04 Z06 is the interior, IMHO, its boring, and plain, and i think the seats are uncomfortable, which is why ill put sparco's in it.

i might also just get a C6 with the Z51 package.

I think if you add a KB 'charger to te Zo6 with larger ported 6.0 heads and a real cam... you should be north of 600rw in a hurry.

The Zo6 will feel much more capable than the Cobra when speeds get above 120mph... which will happen violently quick.

You're kidding me right? I hope you're not coming up with this after comparing the interior with the Mustang.....cuz thats just uhhh....... I mean I know the Vette is no Porsche when it comes to the interior....but come on. Its LEAPS and BOUNDS ahead of the Mustang.

I think that 475-495rwhp with a stock bottom end is impressive, but most won't get there, but 420-435rwhp is very doable.

I like my 02 Z06, and the only things I don't like about it are !navi and dated interior.

i dont hink the stock bottom end would like that too much.

if i were to do that, i would just go turbo anyways. LINGENFELTER!!!!

the seats are plain leather, no covrette stitching, or anything, the gauge cluster is butt ugly, and IMHO, the radio looks like its form 1989

and im comparing it to the cobra, not a normal mustang.

i do however like how the center concole section sits up higher.

I have both and you will need 100 rwhp more with a cobra to run with a z06. Part of this is because the cobra has a lot of low end because of the type of supercharger it has. This makes for great dyno numbers because it spools the rollers up quicker and you get a higher horsepower reading than a n/a engine. This hurts you on the street with excesive wheel spin and the n/a engine will pull harder in the upper rpm range because it is not having to spin the blower. This is one of the reasons dyno numbers depend somewhat on how the car is accelerated on the rollers. I had a friend with a lighting who always beat corvette guys on the street. He went nuts when I beat him bad with my stock FRC 6 times in a row. He was racing guys who do not keep their engine in it's powerband. BTW my cobra dynos 503 rwhp and the z06 is about 385. The cobra feels faster but not when you are side by side.

I just wanted to say, I love the Z06's interior man!! I hope im not the only one, lol. The seats are comfortable as **** to me, and gotta love the Z06 stitching. The blue cluster is just bad ***. I love everything about the inside. you were the first person I have heard say that. I dont rip on mustangs at all, even tho I dis like them, but when it comes to interior, let alone looks. The Z06 just over rules in everything

robz on the zo6 forum went 10.55@130 with 475rwhp (Cartek 3X). His buddy brent went 10.51@130 with the same package. They can drive and leave hard though.

power to weight... I run with pullied, intake, full exhaust and tuned 03-04 cobras with my intake and shifter 02 Z06 all day long.

Z06=the Bomb!!!!!!!!!!

I would say with a good set of heads and a good sized cam with LSX intake you should be around 475rwhp.

if you buy all top end parts you can expect 440-490 depending on the setup. some of the guys doing work on their cars will buy budget parts and not go all out. the guys who buy all top end parts make the big power. not every car is going to make 490 and not every budget build is going to make the low either. with heads, intake manifold, intake, headers, tb, pulley, a big cam, tune and the misc stuff you can make pretty nice power. will it be as fast as your cobra i cant say on motor that it would. there is no reason a setup like this couldnt hold a 100-125 shot and be faster than your cobra.
