bought a vette finally
I just bought a 99 6spd vette targa car about a week and a half ago. I love the car even thought I have only driven it for two days and left to go back to Kosovo. I cannot wait to get home to it.

Congrats on the new ride.....
Congrats to you on your new toy. Welcome to a unique club like no other on earth.
You will love it like no other car. I urge you to read the forums, get involved in a Corvette club and jump into this Corvette thing with both feet.
I bough my first Corvette in 1980, it was a 1979 L82 and I thought it was the coolest car I had ever been in. The way the fender rose up in the line of sight, it just wreaked of muscle car, even though it really wasn't.
I traded that for a new 1982 when they came out. Then I traded that for a new 1984! That got me in trouble because we had a son about a couple of years earlier. I had just started to fund a college fund, bought a new house, and took a job transfer to Omaha, NE of all places!
Well, now after 3 kids and 25 years of marriage the bug resurfaced in a big way! I took one look at the first pictures of the new body style and I just had to have one! I looked at Porsches, the Viper, and others. I ended up back where I was familiar, the Corvette. And, I love it!
While I had several other performance cars in the interim, like a 2000 Firebird LS1 Formula, and later a 2002 Formula Firehawk, NOTHING compares to a Corvette. I just can't believe the looks, the stares, the feeling it envokes!
I got back into the Kansas City Corvette Club and started doing "Corvette things' and boy am I having a time of my life. It's like a am 25 all over again.
Now, I am into performance mods, so far a Random Tech exhaust, a Granetelli MAF, a VaraRam CAI and a Predator programmer. I will buy headers, a ported intake and 1.85 roller rockers next. I just have to get into the 11s on the 1/4 mile and over 420 rwhp with just bolt ons that I can do.
This is fun, reliving my youth and getting cool looks even though I am an old fart at 50!
Make sure you have it insured with the right company too. There are companies that insure it for an agreed value, like Hagerty and others. DO THAT, and make sure you are very truthful with them on the stated value. It is worth it should someone decide they want your new toy.
So keep your dream alive and jump in with both feet!
Happy & safe driving!

I have had several different pony and performance cars. I have had 4 mustangs and a 92 6spd vette. The C5 is just a dream of a car. The best thing about the car is it only has 19000 miles on it. I am also hoping to join a corvette club in Dallas or Houston. Thank you for the nice comments.
