Default Alignment cost

I just lowered my c5 and now I have to get it aligned, does anyone know how much it will cost to get a fourwheel alignment?

let me guess, you lowered your car according to the guide on digitalcorvettes and now you fear its all out of whack, id say 250-300 anywhere besides the stealership..

do the alignment yourself if your mechanically inclined... grab a level, a pointed bob weight, and string....dont forget to have your steering wheel straight when you begin and do it on a level surface... search google, there's some sites w/pics and details... various tools are used depending on the extent you wish to go, most likley you just need to adjust toe, but here's a link http://www.metricchemical.com/align....20alignment%22

Spend the $100.00 and get a pro to do it. They will also give you a 90 garantee.

Where are you located?? If you let us know someone in the area might be able to make a recommendation as to who to take it to. That said, if you're in the NE area (Tri-State area) I'd recommend going to Phoenix Performance. they're a SCCA shop that deals mainly with Vette's and I JUST had my car aligned there.

Timely question and kind of controversial. I've been told by an equal number of people that you need an alignment after lowering and that you DON'T. Having mine done today at Tony's Corvettes in Gaithersburg, MD. It's less than $200 but not by much. They can handle lowered cars and my Z06 is going in since I just lowered it and put on some new Nitto rubber. I don't like spending cash on stuff like alignments but I'd rather do that than hose my new tires.

$200 is'nt bad, were talking something that might save you a lot of money in tires. If you go over 100 M.P.H. (Imagine that!) you will be taking an awfull chance by doing something like that yourself. Im what you might call "machanicly inclined" and there are somethings I just want done right!

You're right VetteRed. I just got back from the shop. I watched the tech do the alignment and I was pretty surprised at just how far off my camber was after I lowered the car. It's now set perfectly for aggressive driving and it feels good. I paid $175 out the door and I feel like it was totally worth it. For those in the DC area, Tony's Corvettes has a great alignment tech who can not only do the work but actually spends time with you talking about how you drive, whether you track the car etc. in order to recommend the best settings. I'm very satisfied with his work.

My camber was WAY out of whack when I dropped my car on the stock bolts. It was over 2° negative. Got that corrected back down to about .8 negative given that I don't track the car and am a little more interested in tire longevity.

My car is way, way off after the lowering. The STP tire place does 4 wheels for $65. I know they are like the Jiffy Lube of tire places but the guys were pretty decent. Where is that SCCA place? I'm at McGuire too. Might like to check them out. $$??

Is yours the black with comp grey wheels and around 35% tint that I see on base all the time??? If it is......NICE F***ING CAR.

The place is Phoenix Performance in Phoenixville PA. I'll shoot you a PM with the website. Only cost me $75 because that's their hourly rate and it only took an hour. If you go there, they ask you how you drive and how you want the car to feel, so be specific on how you want the suspension set.

I usually pay right around 100 dollars for an alignment.
