Default Advice on next car purchase - M3 or C6?

To give you a little background, I currently own a 2000 Z28 Camaro, with close to 400RWHP. I'm going to be selling this vehicle in the next week, inorder to buy my next car. My camaro is basically a racecar, and I want my next car to be well balanced not just for speed, that's why my next car will remain completely stock. And I'm willing to spend upwards of $38,000. Currently I'm up in the air in terms of what car to get a Corvette C6 (2005-2006) or an M3 (2002-2003). My key buying point is how enjoyable the car is to drive as a daily driver, performance, cost, comfort, and luxury. Some factors I found

"C6 offers 70 more HP, weighs about 230lbs less"

"BMW driver position is too upright and not performance driving inspired"

"The C6 is a second quicker in the 1/4 mile than the M3. The M3 gets alot of praise because it's a german luxery car that can run, but in reality, it's barely on par with LS1 F-bodies(98' to 02' Camaro) in speed. The Vette almost assuredly the better handling and breaking of the two."

"You CAN NOT compair the C6 and the M3 really, they are so far different.
The C6 will destroy the M3 performance wise.
The M3 will have a nicer ride, and is gennerally concidered a more prestigous car."

I think the M3 has a nicer interior, but not by a large margin. And I perfer the looks of the M3 over the C6, by a small margin, simply b/c how different it is from my current car.

Also for $38,000 I could get a 02' M3 w/ around 25,000 miles or a C6 w/ 10,000 miles. So I would be able to get a much cleaner and newer C6 then the M3 for the same price. I'm definitely willing to spent up around $38K and get a mint condition car, then save 5K and have high mileage and wear and tear.

Can you guys offer me any quality advice or comparison points between the two cars, because right now I'm up in the air and I plan on buying within the next month. What does either cars offer over the other? I have to say I was leaning towards the M3, but after hearing from the Ls1 guys on another site it appears the C6 offers more, or are they just missing what the M3 delivers?

So it going to be my year round DD, will drive around 5,000 miles a year, live in the city, no need for rear seats, which car is the better choice?

i would get the C6. I WAS a 99 camaro z28 owner. Had 400+ to the wheels, H/C and still almost a daily driver. It was recently hit by a dumbass 16 year old who blew a stop sign goin 60 and totalled her. I put a down payment on a 03 Z06 with 16 k miles on it for 33,000. Best thing I did. I love this thing. I know its not a C6, but in my opinion, its better, theres nothing like owning a Z06. Get what ever you want, but once u drive these corvettes, you can never get enough of em. and those BMW's are soooo slow compared to these things, lol, just dominates them in every category

C6 without question. Not only do they outperform the M3, but they also attract far more attention. Besides, they are changing the 3-series body this year anyways. The only M3's I like are the convertibles.

I bought a vette and would buy another if I had the money for two. There in my mind is no comparison between a vette and an M3. I personally think the vette wins in every catagory.

I've driven Mercedes, BMW, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, et. al., and I have to say that this C6 is by far the best driver's experience I've had to date. Mercedes and BMW have excellent interior build and material quality compared to the C6, but when it comes to pure driving enjoyment, the C6 cannot be beat. The former are just "sporty" sedans and not real sports cars IMHO. And they also cost a helluva lot more to maintain. A battery alone for my mother-in-law's 7 Series BMW cost $350.00.

I think a c6 is more prestigeous than a m3. Most people will just think its a 3 series and those things are everywhere. Imagine cruisin down the road in the m3 and a c6 blows by you... You will think to yourself hmmm, i could have had one of those. And it is a NEWER car to boot.
