It's good to see that you continue your R&D for fitting a 4L80-E in a C5/C6.

-What would be the estimated cost of your new DIY kit?

-Does it come with a stock 4L80-E or a built 4L80-E?

-Have you ever tested your 4L80-E conversion behind a high power C5/C6 ?

Thanks!
We are introducing a full line of C-5 Billet products to allow the full power to get to the ground in a long term fashion in the c-5 / c-6 chassis , as of now the differential is the weak link in testing the full output of this package.
All of the transmissions are built by GEARSTAR to your needs http://www.gearstartransmission.com/
They are will a full warrentee and can be orded with a automatic shift with a GM PCM or after market control unit and in addition,
we do offer a full manual shift version for the diehard auto X or drag racer.

The 4L80-e trans in its stock GM produced form is rated at 885 ft.lbs. of torque and the 4L60-e is 670 and the new 6L80-e is only GM rated at 664 ft. lbs. so even a stock GM 4L80-e is stronger then an upgraded 4l60-e trans.

We have kept the cost at its orginal pricing and each unit is on a quote as to needs and options

Yank has it's new c5 / c6 Billet differential parts on intro pricing.
We have for the c-5 / c-6
billet rear cover that has oil return bosses for use with a cooler, if needed

(click for larger view)
it offers extra support at the case and is in natural alum. or red finish it is machined from aircraft alum.
for intro price of $189.99

other items are a New c-5 and a c-6 Billet differential case, right and left side covers and a billet pinion support made from aircraft alum. to stand up to, and surpass all stress levels that can be placed upon them!

C-5 side cover prices - right side $369.00

Right side YANK cover and stock cover (inc. billet axle seal retainer, seal and o-ring)
With YANKs Inhouse manufacturing we can keep cost low and offer a lifetime warrentee on these right and left side covers!
We have no outside company make them and no MARK-UPS are ADDED in!!

stock cover (left) and billet c-5 Yank cover (right)

Billet left side Price $435.00

C-5 / C-6 pinion support billet $350.00 (photo soon)

differential case for c-5 (quote) custom machined and finished to your needs
differential case for c-6 (quote) custom machined and finished to your needs
January Intro and release on this new product (Differential cases)

Packages prices run from $9500.00 up.
This is why we quote on your needs.
a price of $13,500 can be reached if all options are added, like a Compushift control system and upgraded drive shaft, optional transmission gear ratios ect.

It is nice to see this done. Do you think there might be any drop in price in the future......

The price might be worth it if the product has been tested long enough & proven to handle 1000+ hp C5. Unfortunately with this price I don't think we'll hear about too many test results & impressions!

We have customers who are in the process of installing the packages at this time.
General Motors 4l80-e has Well proven itself to handle 1000 plus HP better than the weak 4l60-e design.

We will up-date you, as well as our web site with all news.

The weak points of the c-5 c-6 chassis are located after the transmission
and will be there still with any transmission choice or use.

Yanks 4l80-e will give you better control in your up & down shifts feel and funtion
as well as a closer ratio gear spacing for Auto-X , HP street and drag use.

Our billet Differential case and covers will allow for more power output with a stronger housing allowing for less gear fracture under high load conditions.

Do you have any pics of this kit installed in a C5? Are you able to provide a copy of the install instructions for a C5?

Thx

This is from a early post it shows the older style bellhousing that is larger than the new Billet one piece design, that made for a tighter fit and floor pan work.
new photos are in the works

Yank now has the 4L80-E conversion kit ready for the C-5/ C-6 cars (97-05)
this kit will replace the factory A-4 or M-6 transmission.
You now have the option of the strong 4L80-E with overdrive and lock-up converter, for your high powered Corvette when running a turbo, Nitrous, a Supercharger or BIG C.I.D. motors.

The complete 4L80-e kits are built to your special needs

Some standard items are :

Special machined and built 4l80-e case
custom front pump
custom front pump adapter to bellhousing
special made output shaft to rear differential
machined differential to rear adapter plate
special rear seal plate to transmission
rear mount plate differential to chassis
reworked torque tube with U-joint fitted Heavy duty drive shaft
Heavy duty converter drive plate
deep alum finned oil pan
Exclusive Lock-up converter with multi-plate clutch (any stall)

for more info on this please
E-mail me Mike Senia at mike@converter.cc
or call 479-632-6355 for photos and price

Photo angle makes it look like that, but it will fit as pipes go below & around the Bell as normal and over the rear, the trans is not in the way.

It is not a good move the time, as the 6l80 has a lower max. torque than the 4l60-e and the 4l80-e also the price to install a Stock 6l80-e unit will cost much more.

GM web site shows the trans torque max# 4l60-e at 670 ft lbs, 6l80 at 664 ft lbs and the 4l80 at 885 ft lbs
