Default Full exhaust question...

Well over this winter I plan on getting a B&B Bullet catback and hopefully (if I can afford em right now) LG headers and X Pipe on my 03 Z06. Regardless I will eventually have a full exhaust system. Just wanted to see a rough HP estimate on that setup. I know alot of people are running it, or LG's and the stock TI's. I would keep the TI's on there but im just looking for something completely new and stuff. and I know they flow just about as good as ANY system out there. If anyone has any sound clips of this setup it would be great! Im pretty excited about doing it. thanks for the input guys!

I have the LG Pros w/ offroad X-pipe with B&B PRT exhaust... I love it, I had the TI's first and it just was not loud enough for me. I have a buddy with the Bullets and LG Pros and for me that is just too loud with no cats. With the PRT exhaust it has a nice growl at idle and really comes alive at WOT, and has no drone at cruising rpms. I will try and get you a good soundclip. Which may not represent what you want since I have a cam... But I'll see what I can get for you.

i really like my PRTs too and get many compliments, but if you want it really loud and youre not gettin a cam for a while, bullets are my personal favorite

I've heard alot of exhaust setups on vettes bro. Alot of them.

To me, the B&B bullets are the best sounding. I have the LG pro's, off road X, and the single tip bullets.

I get more compliments then I could ever imagine from random people, every single time I drive the car. People getting off the highway with me, give me the thumbs up, all the time. The car sounds SICK,...somewhat exotic.

I have friends, that live near the highway...whenever they THINK I am on the highway, I get a phone call that goes something like this..."bro, are you on the highway right now?"..... they have been correct with there guesses every single time.

My neighbor, who is awake when I leave work, tells me he can hear my car from the moment I start it,,....then drive away....then gets quiet again(cause i'm puttin' through my little town)....then, once I start to merge onto the highway, which is two miles away,...he can describe the sound and gear selections of my car and exactly how I am driving. Again, this is two miles away. No bullshit. Some funny stuff.
.
I don't have any WOT throttle vid's as of yet but, I'll work on it. I do have a video in my sig of a mild on throttle, idle video.

I can honestly tell you, you will not be dissapointed,....and neither will the spectators. The sound is nothing like the loudmouth that you had on your Z....completly different, and very refined.

Cops,...however, notice the sound as well.

IMO I would try the Long tubes first, then if its still not loud enough get some exhaust.
Good luck

my opine is to get a system that is a SYSTEM eg: one company headers to tail pipes rather than mix and match. you will get the most if ya tune it also. what are your plans ,cam, heads, gears, road race ,drag street. large dia. and short headers kill low end but love a HOT cam. speed = money .how fast you ya want to go. just noise put slp,s on. go faster 3.72,s or 4.11,s . if headers make sure ox. sensor is placed right or cel time. or edit out . good luck

Yes, you will need a tune with long tubes.

What company, makes a complete header and catback system?

Stainless works? Ah...SLP....which, are ok but, nothing compaired to the kooks stainless works or LG's. Also...BORLA is the actual constructor of LG motorsports headers....you could always get a borla catback...which I had on my old car(sounded crazy but, not as good imo).... whatelse?.... i dunno.

In the end...you won't have any fitment issues with any one system that you wouldn't have form another company...or from one that made the entire system. That part, is all in the installation,......therefore up to the installer how even everything turns out.

Keep the stock Ti exhaust and see if it's loud enough for you. It flows plenty for a cam-only setup.

My guess is around 375-385 rwhp with an intake and longtubes + tune.

I have LG's, offroad and and Borla Stingers.. It's pushing it on the loud side.. I traded my B&B Bullets to a friend of mine.. Sounded awesome.. but a lil too much...

He has em on a 402 LS2 with a big *** cam, with the same headers... Sounds wicked...

I really do NOT like the bullets unless the car has a cam in it.. It really brings out the sound....
