Default Stock C6 Dyno

A friend of mine dynoed his stock 07 6spd C6 and put down 330hp on a dynojet. That same day we installed a Corsa Sport Catback and Corsa X-pipe and dynoed it again. This time it put down 340. We were planning on putting on a Vararam but UPS never showed.
These results seem kind of low compared to other C6s. What do yall think?

Those numbers look perfect to me. You actually got a dyno opperator that is not trying to sell you anything.

The better flowing exhaust system could of messed up the air/fuel ratio, which can give you a lower than expected rwhp gain. It would of been interesting to check the before and after air/fuel ratio at wide open throttle.
We dyno'ed this C6 before and after installing an ATI ProCharger. Bob

We just did a 2006 C6 A6 all stock that made 323 RWHP. We just did another 2005 A4 car that did 346. I dont think that its the trans eating up that much more over the A4, I think its just the variables between vehicles. They were both done the same week BTW.

Is a dynojet the same as a mustang dyno? Also, during the dyno the shop didnt put a fan in front of the car, doesnt this make a difference?

Also, what kind of numbers should the car put down after the Vararam install?

A Mustang dyno is very different than a DynoJet. Here is why.

We always use fans when we dyno a car, and it still does not exactly simulate the amount of airflow a car sees cutting through the wind at speed.

I'd say you will see 10 rwhp with the Vararam. Bob

You are not going to see much of anything from the VaraRam as far as Dyno numbers are concerned. The VaraRam shines on the expressway at speeds above 100 mph. Above 100 is when you really know you got something extra under the hood. The faster you go the better the car pulls. Before VaraRam my car (bone stock at the time 300 rwhp 310 rwtq) was quite doggy even in 5th at speeds of 130 and up. All the zip was gone. As soon as I added the VaraRam 5th gear felt very strong when shifting out of 4th at 130 mph. Didn't seem to fall on its face. Also everyone I know that races the 1/4 mile with a VaraRam in place say that they are trapping a few mph faster. So with all that being said don't let the new dyno numbers with the VaraRam installed get you down. Go driving and see if you feel the difference.

The fan not being on for your pull just let your engine heat up a little more then if it was on. Was the hood up or down?? More heat means less power on your graph. Don't get caught up in your numbers. I went to LG looking for 480+ rwhp and only managed 460 rwhp. I was a bit disappointed until I drove the car. Then I forgot that I didn't make 480 + like I had wanted to. Good luck and let us know how it went, I'd love to see a before and after graph with a VaraRam in place. (sorry for the long post)

Who gives a ****, take it to the track, that will tell the true story, not the "dyno"

I have a question, that has yet to be intelligently answered. Is the torque figure given on a chassis dyno pull, torque produced at the wheels, or at the flywheel? And if the torque figure is at the flywheel, what makes you think the h.p. isn't also? (okay two questions) And contrary to what a few are bound to say, I am not trying to be an ***, I really would like to know. Because most of these dyno figures just don't add up.

Ummm on a dyno it shows the power (both torque and horsepower) that it is making at the wheels... thats the whole point of a dyno.... if you want flywheel numbers look up kbb....

...You didn't look like you were being an *** just there, just clueless...
