In order to get the HP rating you have 2 options. First head and cam with full exhaust or ATI Procharger. Both are going to be about the same price.

thanks i appreciate it.

i have a 75 vette that i have been working on for about a year and its being sold. I know a lot more about the older vettes than the newer ones and any bit and piece of information i get helps out a lot.

but im more than likely going to go the supercharger route mainly because i love the sound of a supercharger when its whining down the track.

as far as exhaust goes im probably gonna do borla and take out the cats.
im still not sure on exhaust though. does anyone have any better ideas exhaust wise?

Either twin turbos or a 402 stroker.

Both will be about the same in cost. It is all a matter of if you want the blower whine or the cam lope.

+1

I am sure you can get all the input you will ever need if you post a thread entitled "blower whine, or cam lope, either way I want 500 rwhp." in both the forced induction and ls1 internal sections. Should get a lot of feed back, that is if you don't get what you are looking for here. Just a suggestion. I say this because then you can hear all the reasons for Forced Induction from the FI guys and all the reasons for Head and Cam from all the H/C guys. Again either way you go, you will be quite happy. Good luck. BTW I am a H/C guy and have often wondered what it would've been like to supercharge the damn thing and be done???? I guess I'll never know, or at least not for some time.

Good luck on the decision. I've had a big H/C package (on a Fbod) and have come to the conclusion that if I ever get another vette and decide to mod, it'll be with some sort of a FI setup, ...or possibly just spray? Any way you go though, the pasture will seem greener on the other side, so just take your time and make your decision well thought out.

I appreciate it a lot guys thanks.

Im still unsure what I want to do though. I drive a lot of highway miles but I also go to the strip quite often. I mainly want what lasts the longest. Only being 17 kinda makes it hard with my pay and most of the money that i make will be going to car payments and insurance.

Im hoping to sell my C3 for enough to cover most of the cost of the C5 and that will also play a huge role on how soon I get F/I or H/C and which one i will get.

Thanks.

I have replaced a lot on the car though. New 350 with holley carb, new tranny, new calipers, front suspension was redone about a year ago, redyed the interior and put in new carpet, all new side markers, tailights, and a few more misc. items. Its also in the shop right now getting repainted white.

But more than likely it will bring somewhere around $12,500 and the C5 that im looking at right now is $16,000. But more than likely i will pay about 18-20k for one.
