Default Supercharging C6

A good friend of mine has an 07 C6... He is now considering the idea of supercharging it... His mind seems to be set on Lingenfelter because of the reputation they have...
I tried to explain he will probably see better results with a ProCharger and having it installed by MTI because we are in Houston...

What do yall think. ?

Depends on his goals. If you want much better responsiveness and daily-driving enhancement, the Magnacharger is excellent. If you are looking for maximum HP at higher rpm, the Procharger D1 is the kit to go with.

My Magna makes 550 rwhp at only 5psi boost, with a 230/230 114 cam and headers. It runs good enough to break drivetrain parts, lol.

I am the good friend CK9887 is refering to. He has his mind set on seeing me with the most power (the best numbers) for the most reasonably priced supercharger kit. (the cheapest)
I, on the other hand, am mainly concerned about reliability and a solid warranty from whomever installs the kit for me. And yes, perferably Lingenfelter, because they offer a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty with the Magnacharger and their reputation is pretty much flawless. To me, it's worth the extra three to four grand to have the peace of mind, knowing my car is covered, warranties from the Factory and Lingenfelter.....
True, the ProCharger has better output numbers and may propel me into the relm of illegality sooner....but im not concerned about my Corvette trying to outrun a Jet.
Im a Trucker that dosen't drive my car much anyway.....
Can you guy's advise, now that you know "The other side of the story?"
Thanks...

If you dont drive your car much chances of you EVER using your warranty are slim. Besides with the extra four grand you can probably fix whatever breaks.

I took my car to MTI and could not be happier or more impressed with the way they do business

Both the Procharger and Magna are pains in the *** to install on a C5 or C6, because you have to remove the steering rack to drill the crank pins. Other than that, both are "bolt-on" type kits. The nose doesn't have to be removed for the Magna however, since the intercooler just slips right in from the bottom.

Looks like you're into the dependability issues (as most of us are, especially after a certain age...eh-hum) Anyway, with that in mind, I would personally go with the company that offers the best coverage if something goes wrong. And like Nine Ball stated earlier, his maggie puts plenty of power to the grounds; enough to break parts. If the money isn't an issue, go with Lingenfelter unless there is someone else out there ready to put their money where there mouth is and match or better the warranty of Lingenfelter. Good luck either way!

My best guess is that it is on the blower itself. Hard to warranty an engine on the basic install price. ATI offers a 3 year warranty for an additional $49.00. Bob

Thanks, DocT...
You are correct....warranty issues are important for those of us over 30 and who's Daddies didn't buy us our Corvette's.
Albeit, the factory warranty that comes with the new Corvette is fairly excellent, I've read it like the Holy Grail. But, it is noted that you can basically bolt anything you want on the car. However, if something brakes as a result of what you had bolted on....tough luck!
So, one HAS to ask these types of questions when dealing with machines that cost $55-60 thousand dollors.
Im not a rich man.....all I do is drive a truck. I try to weigh my options in every area when it comes to covering an investment.

If I had it to do over again....and I'm giving it serious consideration, go directly to the Lingenfelter 427. A few coins more, but as 'granny' used to say, "most times you get what you pay for". At any rate, if the HP bugs bites you even harder at a later date you will have a great platform with which to start and a warranty to boot.

Just my .02 and worth what you paid for it...
