Default Shifters..

Are the shifters from an LS1 and 04 Z06 interchangeable..

Im thinking my first mod..after the antenna of course will be a shifter..Id like to get a "Lou's" short shift and a matching short throw unit like B&M or Hurst etc...

I know the vette shifter is totally different than the fbody. For the vette it's smaller and the stick comes with the shifter assembly whereas the pro 5.0 or whichever shifter you prefer generally lets you choose the stick you prefer to use e.g. Lou's short stick. The Fbody shifter has a big plate and the bolt pattern is different.

Totally different shifters, otherwise I would be sporting a Pro 5.0 in the Z06 and not the B&M Precision Ripper shifter.

Actually I am having a hydraulic issue where the clutch will not disengage fully and it is hard to down shift or shift into first without pumping the clutch. Otherwise the newer style Ripper has been great, I love it over the stock shifter!

I loved the feel of the stock shifter but that thing was damn sure tall wish they came with short shifters stock. Or better yet maybe if we were able to just by short sticks to go on the shifter would've been nice too. I have to do a lot of parallel parking here and that 1 to R and back again is really getting to me.

I just finished installing the BPP shifter in my Z06. I did alot of research before buying one. I really liked it because you can adjust the stifness of the shifter. I ended up going with the lightest springs. Also too you can adjust the handle of the shifter to where you feel most comfortable with it. Haven't had the chance to take it out yet, a bit of a blizzard going on here right now. Although that 2-3 shift is going to be really fast!

here is a link if you want to just keep your stock shifter and just cut the handle down. Although you may have to sign on to that website if you have not already.

Well I would only add to that, that if it was then that was the way it was SET-UP! You can set them to do anything firm, soft whatever!
