Any Downsides To The A-6 Vette?
I am going to buy my wife a new 07 vette and found the exact car we want only it is an auto. Are the autos that much slower the the m-6s? How are they standing up with some abuse?
Thanks DG

everyone on the corvetteforum, has said that they loved them... and I havent heard of anyone breaking one yet.... their on complaint is that both paddles can shift either up or down instead of right side up and left side down. (there is a fix for that though)

I think there's about a 30hp drop with the same mods. Over all, I have yet to hear of any major complaints. They seem to hold the power well. Congrats (if/when) you get the new ride!

It can take plenty of abuse in stock/near stock applications but in the really boosted and/or high winding set ups it's still unproven.

There is a yellow one running the streets of Houston with a procharger, & the guy who ownes it has been having tranny trouble. I talked with him @ the Texas Mile event, & he said he's had the tranny out a couple of times already with slippage issues. According to him there are no aftermarket HP parts for these trannies yet. Some of the various tranny gurus in the industry told me that the 6spd autos were rated for less ft-lbs of torque than the 4L60e when I was shopping for a C6. I opted for the M6 & enjoying every min. behind the wheel. Good luck

the only downside of the A6 in the corvette is that you miss out on all the fun a sticking to the floor clutch pedal can have on driver enjoyment..
Buy the A6 with confidence if you want what I'd consider one of the worlds best automatic paddle shift torque convertor automatics...
JMO but if GM doesn't step up to the plate on the six speed manual clutch issue and resolve the dam problem....The A6 is a dam good way to go...
