It will come out nice and easy its going back in that is a pain in the ***. I pulled mine with the heads off. Put it back in with heads on. I tried everything to get that puppy back in. I had to lower the 4 craddles bolt to the end threads to get oil pan wing to clear. Just remember you also gonna need to disconnect the shocks and A-arms,brake lines to lower the cradle no biggie though. You should also dissconnect the power steering line in the center of the steering rack just protect the threads. Recommend doing a clutch at the same time.

You mean, you put it back in with the heads already on the block??? I had planned on waiting until I had the new block back in before I installed the heads...

That is the link I used. This guy has great info. I installed mine as he did with the heads back on and had to lower the front cradle it`s not a big deal. I only needed about 3/4" to clear. I think your better off putting it in with the heads on. Reason being you can better adjust everything. Figure with the heads on you have good access to the all of your rockers and the abillity to turn crank without dealing with the steering rack to adjust and check preload. And if by some crazy chance you screw up a thread or something its much easier with the motor out. Just watch those wire harnesses there tight in the back. Just my Opinion from my experience with the project... Good Luck

i did mine using that link also. one thing that helped me out a lot on the install was making sure the motor was level before stuffing it, (i had to attempt it twice)

I think I am going to use a lift and just drop the entire drivetrain with wheels on. I have a rear to change along with a motor. Anybody have any hints or links?
