Kooks. Fit and Finish was very good. Installed them in about 4 hours by myself without a lift. Doesn't get much easier than that .

I say LG's for N/A applications, and Kooks only for FI applications. LG's pro longtube headers have been shown to make more power in comparisons. The website has a graph showing LG's powercurve overlayed to Kooks. Same car, same day comparison, and LG's Pro Longtube headers did better. The truth is out there.

I just sold my kooks 1 7/8 headers. I would have bought LGs but I originally planned on going with a supercharged 408.

I'm not trying to start a flame war or anything, but...

I think the Kooks are working great for my NA application. I trapped 118mph with an MTI CAI, pulley, and home-brewed tuning in my '01 Z06. I don't have a graph because I tuned it myself, on the street. However, I gained 3.5mph after the headers/tune, which is likely close to 35-40rwhp.

IMO, any high quality header system (LG, Kooks, American Racing, etc) will produce gains and make the buyer happy. However, his wallet will be very light afterwards!

I say go with what you get the best deal on or what system you think looks the best .

But have you tried the LG pro longtube??

I hear what you are saying bro, and you won't get any flames from me. Kooks is a very good product. Good fit and good finish. I was just pointing out that the same car on the same day was dyno'd on the same dyno with LG's pro long tubes and then Kooks were installed and dyno'd and the Pro longtubes made more power everywhere. We aren't talking 15-20 more but difference wasn't 3-5 rwhp either.

To each their own, and if you like Kooks stay with them. For the record I haven't tried Kooks on my car either. If Kooks made more power everywhere on my graph vs the LG pro longtube headers I would consider switching too. I am sticking with LG Pro longtubes though.

X2
My wallet is lighter with American Racing Headers, but I am very satisifed.

The Ebay C-5 headers are starting to grow in popularity, a bunch of people from the vette forum got with the company that was Selling/making those and worked the bugs out, so that is another low cost alternative, bunch of threads on them over there do a search and they will pop up.

LG Pro's are still considered the standard, but given that the guy who's doing the American Racing headers was formerly the Kooks guy, and he's now got a merge collector on the AR headers that's VERY similar to the LG Pro's, I think a challenge is being made. LG Pro's, Kooks, American Racing. You can't really go wrong with any of them. That said.......

My LG Pro's were VERY nice for the six months they were on the car.

You can't go wrong with any of the top 3 headers. Pick the one you feel best about buying.

I think it all depends on your setup dawg. If your staying smaller cubes, i'd highly recommend LG pro's. If your going big cubes,..then, i'd probably say kooks. The torque is where it's at on the LG's. I think these headers are CRUCIAL to my combo.

If I hadn't picked up my headers used for 750 bucks I would have had a very tough decision buying new .
