Are you going to live at the track or on the street ??
Will you run drag radials at all times ??
How much extra shifting do you want to do ??
Would 3.73's be a better compromise for both street and strip ??
Just a few questions you ask and answer for yourself before you get either.

In my humble opinion I would buy, drive, and make a few payments, or wait until I had the title in my hand before I did anything to a C6. I have a little experience and currently sell Chevrolet. You'll find the car fun to own. If you're looking for attention you've picked the right car. Good luck drive safely.

Need a little more info about your car. What year is it and is it auto or manual? The gear ratios are different between the auto and manual. If you have an auto, more so if you have an A4, 3.9 or 4.10 might be a little too much gear. I an A4 with 3.90s and I really like them. The only disadvantage is that at highways speeds, 75 MPH, I am at 2400ish RPM in OD.

It woudl be easier to know what you plan on doing with the car. I have no experiance with either... I'm still on stock gears saving up for a DTE set up.
BTW. I should let you know incase your new to how the C5/c6 IRS is set up.. you can not replace the gears with your typical tool box no matter how big... The gears require special tools that are in no way cheap. It's easier/cheaper most of the time to just calling a vendor like Dyno Tech eng. and have them build you one.. You can get a price break if you supply a core (your stock IRS) cost typically run 1600+ i believe uninstalled.
So assuming this idea is ok with you... You need to kinda plan out what you wanna do first.. What kinda power adders do you have in mind??? IF none and you want the biggest seat of your pants difference get the 4.10's. either way your going to have to shift into 4th for any 1/4mile racing... so thats no a concern. The big question is when you start traping too high and 4.10's force you into 5th (something you dont' wanna do)

So far the vette is cammed, heads, full exhaust, and fixing to be setup to spray a 75 shot. Got a set up drag radials that will be on the car most of the time. Car is also a 6 speed. I know I am forgetting something. But those are the major upgrades!

With H/C and the 75 shot you should be WELL over 500rwhp at which point 390’s might almost be too much gear. If you ever consider going with more than a 75 shot you might even want to think about 373’s.

Agreed, but I’m thinking a LS2 H/C should be around 500rwhp + 75 shot = 560ish rwhp which has to put it out of 410 range unless he wants to spin the motor to the moon. I would think if well driven it should be around 135mph.

134ish is a reasonable assumption.. which i can't find my calc.. but i'm thinking that would remove 4.10s I think 3.9o's might work.....
I'd suggest get the bottle in there first and hit up the track and see where you are trapping... then figure gears.. it woudl suck to get 3.90's and find out you have to shift into 5th...
